Although he was born poor, Wang Fuzhi's father knew that reading made people wise and reasonable, so he discussed with his grandfather that no matter how tired he was, he would send Wang Fuzhi to study. His father begged for help everywhere, and finally sent Wang Fuzhi to a private school.
While studying in a private school, Wang Fuzhi showed his ingenuity and quickly recited articles such as the Three Character Classic. At the same time, as a young man, he quickly mastered a lot of words in several books.
Due to his family's poverty, he dropped out of private school after three months, but Wang Fuzhi's father was pleased that Wang Fuzhi had at least not become an illiterate. He learned a lot in these three months, which also laid the foundation for later learning.
Not long after Wang Fuzhi dropped out of school, his elderly grandfather also died. Looking at the young child, Wang Fuzhi's father gritted his teeth and resolutely chose to return home to take care of the child. The father and son grew only enough food at home to feed one person. Wang Fuzhi continued to work for the landlords to make ends meet.
In 1935, the twelve-year-old Wang Fuzhi was deeply oppressed by the landlords, and heard that after the Red Army arrived in Yan'an, he was very concerned about the lives of the people, and the military and the people got along very harmoniously. He explained to his father his idea of joining the Red Army, and after some thought, he agreed, and thus he entered the barracks.
In fact, when Wang Fuzhi entered the barracks, an interesting thing happened.
When he enlisted, a Red Army soldier went to ask him about his age, he was afraid that he was too young and others did not agree to join the army, so he lied that he was 17 years old, he finally joined the Red Army, and the battalion he was in at that time was the Red Seventy-Five Young Communist Battalion (also known as the Doll Battalion).
In the course of a battle, when the enemy saw that we were full of teenage dolls, he let down his guard and said some contemptuous words: "There are some small knots below, and there is no climate." ”
Wang Fuzhi and his comrades-in-arms were also in what we now call the juvenile stage, and at the height of their anger, they rushed to the enemy in a burst, and his dart pointed to the enemy's neck, frightening the enemy into losing the gun in his hand, and this gun was also his first gun.
This battle was the Battle of Lausan.
After the battle, he was appointed as a liaison officer by his superiors because of his excellent ability, and then began to study surveying and mapping because of his strong learning ability, and at the same time became a member of the Communist Party. According to the history of the Party, he was one of the youngest Communists.
After the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Wang Fuzhi was proposed as an excellent military talent by the military region he was in at the time, and went to the northeast to form the Northeast Democratic United Army (later reorganized into the Fourth Field Army).
Subsequently, he made outstanding contributions in the battles of Sibao Linjiang and Sanxia Jiangnan. He also served as the commander of the 343rd Regiment of the 39th Army of Siye to lead the troops to fight major battles such as the Liaoshen Campaign and the Pingjin Campaign.
In 1950, shortly after the founding of New China, the Korean War broke out. Wang Fuzhi, as the commander of the main regiment of the main force, also followed the troops to the Korean battlefield. After staying in North Korea for three years, he could not return to his hometown and meet his old father, who he thought about day and night.
In the Battle of Onjeong in Korea, Wang Fuzhi conquered the Onjeong area where the U.S. army was stationed in only 1 hour. The US army was greatly defeated, and Wang Fuzhi took this opportunity to pursue the US army with victory and made the first merit of resisting US aggression and aiding The DPRK.
In 1952, Wang Fuzhi led the 15th Division to hold the position east of the Linjin River to block the attack of the United Nations army led by the United States, which had advanced weapons and the troops led by Wang Fuzhi could not compete with it face to face. But the volunteers also responded by using tunnel tactics to turn positions into fortresses.
Wang Fuzhi almost died in this war because the fortress was blown up.
Enemy artillery fire kept coming in, and the huge air current pushed him into the end of the tunnel, and when he woke up again, he found that he had been buried underneath, along with Chen Zhimao, Chen Ming and others.
When he woke up, he found that the tunnel was pitch black, and several people were experienced in hundreds of battles, and they were not afraid of death. I just feel that this method of death is not suitable for soldiers, and soldiers should sacrifice with great ambition. After recovering their strength, several people carefully pushed the wood and stone away to find an exit.
As the air in the cave became thinner and thinner, several people could not hold on. The cave was pitch black, the whole cave was full of death, and several people continued to work hard to call out for help, taking out their hands and banging hard, hoping that the rescue team outside could hear the sound.
People can live for a few days without food, but it is difficult to last a day without water, and the clever Wang Fuzhi thought of a way: that is, to collect urine in case of emergency. Wang Fuzhi and a few others began to collect urine.
The day after the burial, 38 hours later, several people in the pit heard the sound of excavation, and the sound suddenly accelerated. Rescued! Rescued! Wang Fuzhi felt a glimmer of light enter the tunnel, and the air suddenly became sufficient. They knew they were rescued!
After Wang Fuzhi and the others were trapped, Peng Dehuai, commander-in-chief of the Volunteer Army, personally ordered his own rescue, even if he died, he had to find the body.
Wang Fuzhi also knew through others that before he was rescued, the sapper squad leader saw two flies flying out of the tunnel hole, which meant that there was plenty of oxygen in the cave, so there was still a trace of life in the buried people. Immediately ordered to speed up the excavation!
After Recuperation, Wang Fuzhi carefully inquired who this sapper squad leader was, and he wanted to thank him personally! But no one knew, and no one contacted the squad leader. Therefore, Wang Fuzhi was disappointed! He took the fly that flew out of the hole as his savior. He sighed, "If the two flies in the hole hadn't flown out, I would have been finished a long time ago." ”
From then on, he would not hunt flies when he met them!
In 1954, the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea was victorious, and the soldiers of the Volunteer Army returned to China honorably. Wang Fuzhi, who performed well on the Korean battlefield, was also awarded the rank of major general after returning to China.
