Tian Xiang is the first batch of students of Hantang Dance of Beijing Dance Academy in 2001, and her mentor and founder of Hantang Dance, Sun Ying, once named this class "Dandelion Class", hoping that these Hantang dance students will be like a dandelion, scattered with the wind, landing, rooting, sprouting and growing.
Tian Xiang fulfilled the teacher's wish. As one of the dandelion miles, she floated to Shanghai and took root here.
Jointly planned by Shanghai International Dance Center Theater and Tian Xiang, associate professor of Beijing Dance Academy, the "Han Tang Dance Inheritance and Creation Center" was established in Shanghai, which will popularize and inherit Han Tang dance through a series of offline and online workshops, and gradually establish a "Han Tang Dance Troupe" with the goal of creating performances, and constantly launch new works to meet with Shanghai audiences.
"The center is composed of the 'Han Tang Dance Transmission Hall' in the direction of art education and the 'Han Tang Dance Troupe' in the direction of artistic creation, on the one hand, to cultivate talents through courses, on the other hand, to incubate works based on theater, and the outstanding students will appear on the stage of the National Dance Theater every year." At present, the Hantang Dance Workshop has been carried out to the third phase, the first two sessions of the rapid expiration, the latest workshop will be held online from December 13 to 14, the audience can register through the official WeChat public account of the National Dance Theatre.
The workshop will be taught by Tian Xiang himself, and will lead everyone to carry out physical development and technical training, deeply learn the dance sections of classic works, and carry out choreography practice. Due to the impact of the epidemic, workshops are currently running online, and more workshops and activities are planned to be launched next year.

In August of the same year, Tian Xiang's "Figurines: Squatting Dance Me" was staged at the National Dance Theater, with slender eyebrows, bright blush and lip color, ankle-length skirts, and a cute and delicate lady who seemed to come out of the picture scroll, and the ancient wind came to the face... In March 2021, commissioned by the "Youth Incubation Platform" of the National Dance Theater, tian Xiang's "Figurine III" premiered in Shanghai, once again stunning the audience.
The "Figurines" series is Tian Xiang's magnificent imagination of the past, and has been replaced by multiple versions, the earliest of which dates back to 2016, and is a solo dance she choreographed in the United States.
"At that time, I wanted to try to abstract the image of the Han Dynasty dance figurines, or contemporary it." Since then, Tian Xiang has been invited to become a joint artist of the National Dance Theater to explore new ways of cooperation. After a year and a half of continuous communication and the accumulation of several rounds of workshops, the "Han Tang Dance Inheritance and Creation Center" was officially launched - this is the first time that the National Dance Theater has officially combined the work of "youth incubation" with art education.
For a long time, the National Dance Theater has been exploring ways to cultivate and support young artists, and this cooperation with Tian Xiang to launch the "Han tang dance inheritance and creation center" is a new starting point and a new direction.
