The vicissitudes of the years have mottled the wooden door with vermilion lacquer, and the ancient door bronze lock seems to have traveled through space and time, returning to the Republic of China era full of Kunming memories. Every plaque of the building is the handwriting of various generations of officials, literati and inkers, carved columns and paintings, cornices, calligraphy and painting antiques... Each little ornament tells a moving story.
Built in 1919 and completed in 1924, this old mansion is a century-old mansion belonging to the provincial cultural relics protection unit of Yunnan Province. This used to be the former site of the "Fuchun Heng Shang", and it has another name called "Jiang Family Compound".
Jiang Zonghan founded the "Fuchun Heng Shang", and his grandson Jiang Yangyu built this house in 1919 and moved the "Fu Chun Heng" general number here in 1928.
At present, this is the only courtyard in Kunming that is composed of two different architectural styles, "three squares and one wall" and "four in five patios". The fusion of these two architectural styles has formed an architectural style unique to Yunnan, Liuzhi Chun, which is also harmonized with the Dialect of Yunnan " Deer Crane Tongchun " , indicating auspicious meaning.
Traditional Chinese stone carvings, brick carvings, and Tiles with French characteristics, every detail has injected a humanistic warmth into this century-old mansion.
In 2021, the old mansion has added a new name - Silver Chest U Drama Courtyard Theater, which is a boutique courtyard theater landmark in the center of Kunming.
