According to the People's Daily, on January 20, the memorial and burial ceremony of Academician Wu Mengchao and his wife Professor Wu Peiyu was held in Shanghai. Academician Wu Mengchao is known as the "father of Hepatobiliary Surgery in China", and has successfully treated more than 16,000 patients in his 75-year medical career. A hand mold statue is placed in front of the memorial statue of Academician Wu Mengchao, because he has been holding a scalpel for many years, and his right index finger has been deformed. He once said, "The day I fell off the operating table, I felt very happy." Hats off to Elder Wu!
