Text/Fast Wind
In the high school Chinese textbook, there is a "Biography of Su Wu", which tells the story of Su Wu's captivity in the nineteenth year of xiongnu, and the story of the snow swallowing and holding on to the festival. However, in this textbook, one thing was intentionally or unintentionally missed: Su Wu had married a "bearded woman" and had a son.

Ban Gu recorded in the Book of Han that in Su Wu's later years, because su Yuan, the son born to his ex-wife, was killed for participating in the rebellion, the emperor took pity on him and asked: "Wu has been in the Xiongnu for a long time, is there any son?" Su Wu replied: "When the Xiongnu were sent before, Hu Women gave birth to a son to pass through the country, and asked with a voice, willing to redeem them because of the messenger's gold." Therefore, the emperor sent people to take back Su Tongguo, the son born to Su Wu and Hu Woman, and made him the emperor's attendant.
So, the question is, when Su Wu returned to China, why didn't the "nine people who returned with Wu" bring his Xiongnu wives and sons?
Before Su Wu went to the Xiongnu, he had a wife and a son (Su Yuan), and he was very affectionate with his wife. Before leaving, Su Wu wrote a sincere five-word poem "Leaving a Wife": "Married as a husband and wife, there is no doubt about love and affection." Rejoicing on this evening, grace and good time. Zhengfu huai went to the road, and looked up at the night. Samson is gone, go and resign from here. The campaign is on the battlefield, and the meeting is not expected. Shake hands with a long sigh, tears for a living. Strive to love Chunhua, do not forget the joy of time. Life should come back, death should be Sauvignon Blanc. ”
This poem is full of "love", "no doubt", "lovesickness", but no one can stand the test of time, Su Wu learned from Li Ling's mouth that his wife remarried rumors, and married a Hu woman.
Many people question, is Su Wu not "sucking snow and digging rats and digging grass" in the North Sea? How can you still have the strength to marry a wife? It's good that Su Wu had a hard time, but it wasn't always the case. The Xiongnu nobles held Su Wu in high esteem, and Shan Yu's younger brother King Yu gave Su Wu horses and livestock, clay utensils for wine and cheese, and felt tents with domes. Li Ling also gave Su Wu more than a dozen cattle and sheep, and arranged wine banquets and songs and dances for him.
No one will deny Su Wu's national integrity of not submitting to the Xiongnu in 19 years, but from ancient times to the present, in order to hide his holiness, Su Wu's marriage incident was downplayed, and even some people said that Hu Wu was deliberately "difficult" and "bitter" by the Xiongnu, which means beauty, which is a joke.
Su Wu is a man, naturally has seven passions and six desires, after learning that his wife remarried and marrying a bearded woman is also understandable, Su Shi wrote in "Dongpo Zhilin" that the most difficult thing for people is to "go to desire", "Su Ziqing's teeth are snowy felt, his back is bleeding, and he has no words to bend, it can be described as the time of life and death, but it is inevitable that He will have children for Hu Women, living poorly on the sea, and the situation is sparse in the cave house. I know that this matter is not easy to eliminate. ”
However, why didn't Su Wu take his wife and son with him when he returned to China? Bringing the Xiongnu wife back to China is not a major crime, because there is a precedent, when Zhang Qian went out to the Western Regions, he was detained by the Xiongnu for more than ten years, and when he returned to China, he took the Xiongnu wife with him. However, the emperor did not blame him at all, and named him "Marquis of Bowang".
Su Wu did not follow the example of his predecessor Zhang Qian and his wife Hu back to China, I guess he still cherished his own reputation, first, he was a person with a wife and a son, after all, he did not know the true situation of his wife and children; second, he was a well-known "dignified man" in the two countries, and marrying Hu woman was somewhat detrimental to the hero's image. Therefore, Su Wu was secretive about this past, if it were not for the emperor's question when he was old, it was estimated that no one would know about it in his lifetime.
Historians of all generations have downplayed the "Bearded Woman" in the depths of history, and we have no way of knowing who the nomadic woman's surname is and what she looks like, but a woman, when you were most lonely, accompanied you, gave you warmth, love, and affection, and finally was married first and then abandoned -- Su Wu did not insult the king and did not insult the country, but was ashamed of the desert woman who did not know the name.
