A 3-year-old boy in Harlem fell from an apartment window and died

New York police said a 3-year-old boy died on Friday morning after falling out of the window of an apartment in Harlem.

At about 10:20 a.m., police received an alarm call at around 10:20 a.m., and first responders told police officers at the scene that they had found an unconscious child behind a building on West 133rd Street, according to Pix11.

Allegedly, his injuries indicated he had fallen from a high place.

Police said the boy was rushed to a nearby hospital and was soon pronounced dead.

Police confirmed the deceased was Daniel Galeas. According to the NYPD, he lives on West 137th Street, a few blocks from the scene.

It's unclear how high a window the child may have fallen.

Police said the medical examiner would determine the boy's cause of death.
