The NBA has removed O'mil Asik's contract from the Bulls' payroll

According to The Athletic's famous reporter Shams Charania on June 27, league sources revealed that NBA officials have removed Omir Asik's contract from the Bulls' salary book based on the reason for the termination of career injuries, which frees up $3 million in salary space for the Bulls.

The Bulls submitted the application to the league at the end of April. Currently, the Bulls have $23 million in salary space.

The Bulls cut Asik in October last year. In the 2017-18 season, Asik played in 18 games, averaging 1.2 points and 2.6 rebounds in 10.1 minutes per game.

Asik played in the NBA for eight seasons, playing for the Rockets, Pelicans and Bulls, playing in 471 games, averaging 5.3 points and 7.1 rebounds in 19.6 minutes per game.
