The Huanglong World Natural Heritage Site held the "Panda Ambassadors in Action to Protect the Earth" nature education activity

In order to welcome the 55th "World Earth Day", further strengthen the awareness of primary and secondary school students to care for the world heritage and the earth's homeland, and enhance their ability to participate in the sustainable development of the world heritage, with the support of the UNESCO Regional Office for East Asia, the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Tourism of Sites, the Huanglong National Scenic Area Administration, and the School of Tourism of Sun Yat-sen University, will jointly hold a nature education activity with the theme of "Panda Ambassadors in Action to Protect the Earth" on April 20.

As a world natural heritage site, a world man-in-the-biosphere and other laurel scenic spots, Huanglong is not only famous for its magnificent natural landscape and biodiversity, but also an important base for scientific research and ecological protection. The Huanglong World Heritage Site is committed to the conservation of biodiversity, especially the giant panda and its habitat, in order to maintain the unique value of the Huanglong World Natural Heritage Site.

On the day of the event, a nature education lecture on "Entering the World Heritage and Protecting the Earth's Homeland" will be held at the Visitor Center Square of the Huanglong Scenic Area, which will introduce the origin, development and contribution of the World Heritage to the Earth's ecological environment, and highlight the unique value of the Huanglong World Natural Heritage (OUV). In addition, the lecture will also share the latest progress and achievements in scientific research and ecological protection of Huanglong Nature Reserve.

After the lecture, 15-18 primary and secondary school students will be led to participate in field nature education activities in the Danyunxia area of the Giant Panda National Park. Through the explanations of nature education instructors and staff of the Huanglong Heritage Site, students will have an in-depth understanding of the biological characteristics and living environment of the giant panda and the significance of the construction of the Giant Panda National Park.

The Huanglong National Scenic Area Administration hopes that through this event, primary and secondary school students will be stimulated to their interest in natural sciences, cultivate their awareness of ecological protection, and at the same time, convey to the public the efforts and achievements of the Huanglong World Heritage Site in scientific research and ecological protection.

Because the water volume of Huanglong landscape is affected by seasons and rainfall, there are wet periods and dry periods.
