The National Forestry and Grassland Administration announced today (April 27) that a few days ago, the China Wildlife Conservation Association and the San Diego Zoo in the United States signed a cooperation agreement on giant panda conservation, and will select a pair of giant pandas to go to the San Diego Zoo in the United States to start a 10-year international conservation cooperation on giant pandas.

The Chinese side selected a pair of giant pandas "Yunchuan" (male) and "Xinbao" (female) from the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda, and arranged for the two giant pandas to be accompanied by experienced keepers and veterinarians to the United States. The United States is renovating and upgrading the giant panda arena to create a larger and more comfortable living environment for the giant pandas. At the same time, the zoo has also equipped the two giant pandas with a professional team that has studied and exchanged giant panda breeding management, daily care and related scientific research techniques in China.
In order to ensure the healthy life of the two giant pandas in the United States, in March this year, the China Wildlife Conservation Association organized experts to go to the United States to conduct in-depth consultations with the San Diego Zoo on the development of giant panda cooperation, carry out technical guidance and exchanges, and clarify the standard requirements for giant panda breeding management, living environment, health care and other standards.
The San Diego Zoo in the United States is one of the top five zoos in the world. According to the agreement, the two sides are actively promoting the relevant preparations for the giant pandas to go to the United States.
