The latest longevity secret is public, good sleep is only ranked 9th, the first to make people cry and laugh!

"Overnight water is a chronic poison and must not be drunk!"

"Shocked! Eating too much of this food causes cancer! ”

"You have absolutely no idea that you can live a long life by doing this!"

……

In your "Love family" group, you will not be absent from various health cheats.

No, the family group of grumpy little doctors surprised a "new longevity secret list", known as the World Health Organization (WHO) released, or "the latest version in July 2021".

The latest longevity secret is public, good sleep is only ranked 9th, the first to make people cry and laugh!

(Source: Grumpy Little Doctor's Family Group)

In line with the principle of strict rumor dispelling, the grumpy little doctor deliberately checked the official website of the WHO and did not find any "longevity secret" at all.

On closer inspection, the "secrets of longevity" in this list fall into two categories:

One category is indeed beneficial to health, but whether it can make people live longer needs more scientific research to confirm.

The other category does not help you live a long life at all, and may also harm your health!

Let's follow the grumpy little doctor to identify the authenticity of the list one by one. (A bit long, but be sure to see the end, there are surprises!) )

No. 20 Laughter

The luck of people who love to laugh is certainly not too bad, because longevity is also a kind of luck! (Just kidding~)

But don't open your mouth too much, so as not to fly into your mouth

Don't laugh for a long time, otherwise your jaw will be dislocated, and you will be happy and sad!

Grumpy little doctor identification: laughing is good for health, but there is no scientific evidence for longevity!

No. 19 Drink hot water

Drinking boiled water has blocked many infectious and parasitic diseases for us. But no studies have said that hot water is more conducive to longevity than cool white opening.

Also, don't drink hot water! Frequently eating/drinking very hot food or water increases the risk of esophageal cancer [1].

Hot drinks above 65°C are GRADE 2A carcinogens (most likely carcinogenic) that who have been "approved" by the WHO [2]!

Grumpy little doctor identification: regardless of cold water and hot water, clean hygiene, moderate temperature is the most important.

No. 18 Eat nuts

Nuts are nut-dense and help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes [3,4]. But longevity, a little difficult for nuts anymore...

The fat content of nuts is not low, and eating more will be fat! The Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents (2016) recommend eating 25 to 35 grams of soybeans and nuts per day [5].

Grumpy little doctor identified: nuts can be eaten in moderation, but if they are moldy, or bitter and numb, with a pungent "hara smell" to throw away.

No. 17 Eat garlic

For mom and dad, there is no disease that cannot be solved by eating garlic. If so, eat another one.

Some of the ingredients in stinky garlic do reduce stomach cancer mortality and have a potential preventive effect on stomach cancer [6]. But that doesn't mean it directly prevents cancer.

Grumpy little doctor identification: garlic is a healthy food, but eating too much may have bad breath that can't be shaken off [7], if you want to go out to meet people, you should be cautious!

No. 16 Drink tea

People who have a long-term habit of drinking tea will be sick for a longer period of time than those who do not drink or drink less tea [8]. But that doesn't mean longevity! A single food or drink doesn't make people live longer.

Grumpy little doctor identification: moderate tea drinking is good for health, but tea polyphenols have an exciting and refreshing effect, do not drink too much tea in the afternoon or evening, so as not to insomnia.

N0. 15 Watch less TV

This one must have been added by your mother.

However, some people have found that watching TV for a long time has a higher risk of cardiovascular disease [9] and is more susceptible to diabetes [10]!

No wonder Mr. Lu Xun also said that "watch less TV and read more books."

But this is not the fault of television, but a series of health problems caused by long-term sedentary and lack of exercise.

Grumpy little doctor identification: watch less TV, sit less, get up at any time and take a walk.

N0. 14 Eat more apples

One apple a day, the doctor away from me? I threw up!

Apples are nutritious, and Bears know it, and it's "right crap."

Grumpy little doctor identification: any disease, is not simply "what to eat" can be prevented or treated, let alone longevity!

No. 13 Eat leafy greens

Green leafy vegetables are good, everyone knows ah, the problem is whether you want to eat it!

The Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents (2016) recommend that there are vegetables in the meal, and 300 to 500 grams of vegetables should be eaten every day, and dark vegetables (including green leafy vegetables) account for 1/2 [5].

Here we must @ the northern friends - the vegetables we are talking about are the following, not potatoes, eggplants, dried beans, and not the three fresh!

(Source: Network)

Grumpy little doctor identified: eating more green leafy vegetables rich in fiber is a good habit. However, do not use high temperature heavy oil to stir-fry, you can quickly fry or simmer. Mixing vegetables or salads is also possible, but soy sauce, salad dressings, etc. cannot be excessive!

No. 12 Stay calm

People can indeed be angry to death.

Within 2 hours of an outburst of overwhelming anger, a heart attack was 8.5 times more likely [11].

Grumpy little doctor identification: one less tantrum, it gives longevity one more chance.

No. 11 Eat less sugar

If someone tells you that sugar is as "poisonous" as cigarettes, would you believe it?

The latest longevity secret is public, good sleep is only ranked 9th, the first to make people cry and laugh!

(The movie "Ace Agent 2" says that sugar is as addictive as drugs and just as harmful.) Source: soogif)

Eating too much sugar can lead to morbid obesity, which in turn increases the risk of heart disease [12]. The Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents (2016) recommend that the daily intake of sugar should not exceed 50 grams, and it is best to control it below 25 grams.

Grumpy little doctor identification: sugar can not not eat, can not eat more. Pay special attention to "invisible sugar", such as braised pork, sweet and sour ribs, sweet drinks, snacks and other foods in the sugar...

No. 10 Tourism

At the end of the day, life is about movement!

A 2019 study published in the British Medical Journal found that exercise of any intensity reduces the risk of death [13].

Grumpy little doctor identification: exercise is a good doctor. Wait until the epidemic subsides, call your little partner, and see the great rivers and mountains of the motherland

No. 9 High-quality sleep

You all care about "what time is best to sleep," but scientists only care about "how to sleep better."

Because the quality of sleep is more important - sleeping soundly is harmful to health, and it will also accelerate aging [14]!

Grumpy little doctor identification: change a quiet environment, buy a comfortable pillow, and sleep well with your boyfriend/girlfriend!

No. 8 Eat ginger

Ginger is indeed a good thing!

It contains a variety of active ingredients [15], which have the effects of promoting appetite, perspiration, antiemetic, and bacteriostatic [16]. However, some people eat too much ginger, and their stomachs and throats may be uncomfortable. Also, don't eat rotten ginger!

Grumpy little doctor identification: eating ginger in moderation is good for health! But it's not just "eat something" to live a long life. Otherwise, why did the ancient emperors go to alchemy instead of eating ginger? (Alchemy can't live long either!) )

No. 7 Do not sit still

The office should be sedentary, the meeting should be sedentary, the mahjong should be sedentary, and even I, who is writing popular science, is also sitting for a long time!

The American Cancer Society defines sedentary sitting as sitting still for more than 6 hours a day. Sedentary is dangerous and increases mortality [17].

Grumpy little doctor identification: This secret makes sense, don't you hurry up and get up to the activity?

No. 6 Companionship

Long-term or severe loneliness does lead to psychological problems, mood disorders, or potential risk factors for diseases such as hypertension [18,19], which have a particularly large impact on the physical and mental health of the elderly.

But as long as you are happy and can enjoy a person's life, it is not too much of a problem to be a little "alone"!

Grumpy little doctor identification: companionship is the longest confession of affection, there is time, often go home to see.

No. 5 Stay happy

The extroverted personality who loves to talk and laugh is indeed the commonality of centenarians.[20]

"Smile, ten years less", what the old ancestor said is not false!

Grumpy Little Doctor Identification: Is this a piece of counting? Please refer back to Article 20 for details.

No. 4 Massage

Massage is refreshing, massage is always cool!

But there is currently no scientific study showing that massage and longevity are related.

Grumpy little doctor identification: the body is sore, massage is no harm. However, the street massage shop and foot pinch shop are still less good, and it is better to go to the hospital rehabilitation department and physiotherapy department.

No. 3 Hugs

[21] Hugging creates empathy and makes people happier. A good mood and a smile are naturally good for health.

Grumpy little doctor identification: can someone hold it or not? Hug it and you're done! As for longevity... Or advise you not to think too much,

No. 2 Running

Sport is recognized by WHO as promoting health and longevity [22,23]. Running should be moderate, 3 to 5 times a week, 5 to 10 kilometers each time, it is ok. Running too much may hurt your knees.

Grumpy little doctor identification: Everyone knows that exercise is good, but are you willing to move?

No. 1 Drink alcohol

What the? The first person in the list is actually drinking!

It's really laughable...

Alcohol is a clear carcinogen, and it can also harm the liver, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

Moreover, moderate alcohol consumption is not good! People who never drink alcohol have a lower risk of coronary heart disease and stroke than those who drink in small quantities [24].

Grumpy little doctor identification: Quickly forward to the circle of friends, tell everyone not to persuade the wine again!

Although the WHO official website does not have this list at all, it can still be updated year by year... Great!

Last year's "longevity list" did not have "drinking", and this year's "drinking" became the first place.

Needless to say, the "longevity" list is still quite internal!

Next year's title won't be smoking, right? Let's wait and see hahaha!
