The goal of our "Extreme Speed Anxiety" column is to test the most realistic endurance achieved by electric vehicles at 120km/h. Previously, we tested several mainstream electric vehicles such as Xiaopeng P7 and Tesla Model Y High Performance Edition, and their performance depended on it.

Our test method is still in the 80% to 30% of the most used power range, at a speed of 120km/h cruising to see how many kilometers can actually be run, and finally calculate the endurance of this car.
Before departure, when charging this car, I found a problem: most of the fast charging piles are placed in the middle of the two parking spaces, and the ID.6 X charging interface is set on the right rear side like Volkswagen's fuel vehicle, if you can only park in the right parking space, first of all, the charging gun is more laborious to pull over, and secondly, some charging cables are not long enough to dock normally. So this is one of the things I think the ID.6 X should consider improving — either putting the charging interface at the front of the car, or placing it on the side of the taillight like the Tesla, which will greatly increase the convenience of charging.

In my opinion, the ID.6 X is a "mainstream non-mainstream new energy vehicle".
It is said that it is mainstream because it comes from the mainstream brand Volkswagen in the era of fuel vehicles, and this car is built closer to a fuel car, and the difference between appearance and fuel vehicle is not obvious, it is almost like growing up on everyone's traditional aesthetic. Of course, this is to let more people accept it, after all, there are many people who favor the shape of traditional fuel vehicles, if you want to change new energy vehicles and do not want to look too avant-garde, then the ID.6 series is one of the good choices at this price.
Say that it is not mainstream, because Volkswagen has the strength to call the wind and rain in the field of fuel vehicles, but in the new energy vehicles do seem to be a bit "not very fit", you see a vote of the new car-making forces have chosen a closed air intake grille, and to achieve a lower wind resistance coefficient, their focus is to seize the young people who dare to try the early; and ID.6 X is different, there is a large area of the air in the net, let people feel that it has a conservative, a traditional car company pride.
When I drove it up, I would also find that the ID.6 X was very close to the fuel car in addition to having no engine sound, which once again confirmed my understanding of it above - Volkswagen used his understanding of everyone to build a car that he thought was the most ideal, and he did it. Then again, whether on urban roads or highways, the power performance of ID.6 X has exceeded 70% of vehicles, and lane change overtaking can also cope with it. Of course, when it comes to handling and power, the ID.6 X doesn't have much to say, it lacks some surprises, and the few things that may impress me are its small turning radius - a medium and large car has a steering radius similar to that of the Tiguan L, which means that you don't have to worry about turning around or stopping, and the novice can also cope with it calmly. So all you can do is enjoy its comfortable setting in the car, and it is good to imagine it, after all, this car carries the travel application scenario of the family.
Let's talk about the interior design. In fact, the public is reluctant to make the design too fast and too big, more in accordance with the tradition. Then what is presented in front of our eyes is that the design is indeed conservative, more traditional, in this interior, you can not find too many new energy vehicles, the mediocre central control screen, the function and the fuel car above the almost, wireless CarPlay is the most affordable field function; about four inches of instrument screen and BYD Qin PLUS is almost the same, in fact, the display information is not rich. However, its border is relatively thick, plus a gear shift mechanism, it looks larger, and the overall matching of the interior is also harmonious.
The design near the ID.6 X armrest is quite practical, and the wireless charging board of the mobile phone, the special seat for the co-driver mobile phone, the cup holder, the key special seat, the storage compartment, etc. are all available, which is also the best proof of ID.6 X as a family car.
But ID.6 X also has some designs that make people confused, the most typical is the main driving window control button from four to two, added a touch switch button, long press the light can control the rear window, but this design has a biggest problem, as long as the handle is on it is easy to mistakenly touch, so that the original want to control the front window, the result is the rear window of the embarrassing scene, so this point hopes to be optimized in time.
Of course, ID.6 X also has a lot of pleasing places in the interior, such as the atmosphere light option design is different from other cars, because its atmosphere adjustment is to switch the color of the theme interface, screen and dashboard at the same time, will be dynamically matched with the atmosphere light, when you can switch to orange during the day, life is full of passion; when dragging the tired body home at night, you can switch to blue, quiet and warm.
ID.6 X also has a very practical function, the touch buttons of the temperature and volume of these air conditioners below the central control, because there is a groove design, the fingers can slide smoothly inside, and the accuracy rate can reach almost 99%. Who said that touch buttons are not easy to use, it depends on how to design.
Finally, we cruised at a speed of 120km/h, after basically running a lap of the Chengdu Second Ring Expressway, the power dropped from 80% of the departure to 30%, and the endurance achievement rate I sold first, you can find the answer in our video. However, it can be revealed that the high-speed endurance achievement rate of ID.6 X under extreme speed conditions is indeed lower than that of urban use cases.
