Cheng Xiangyu graduated from the School of Art of Hebei University of Science and Technology in 1981, studied in the Chinese Painting Seminar of the Beijing Academy of Painting from 1990 to 1992, studied landscape in the Department of Chinese Painting of the China Academy of Art from 1999 to 2001, graduated from the Third Master Training Class of the China Academy of Art in 2002, and graduated from the Long Rui Studio of the Chinese Painting Research Institute in 2005.
His works have been published in newspapers and periodicals such as Literary and Art Studies, Art Observation, and Fine Arts Newspaper. He has published "Selected Landscape Paintings of Cheng Xiangyu", "Ink Landscape of Cheng Xiangyu", "Contemporary Famous Scholars Library of Cheng Xiangyu Freehand Landscape" and so on.
