Editor's Note:

Traditional painting of water, the Courtyard paintings of the Song Dynasty mostly take dense and meticulous painting methods, especially the water drawings made by Ma Yuan in the Southern Song Dynasty; while the painting water of the literati painters of the Yuan Dynasty is mostly replaced by blank space, even if it is a painting mouth, the use of pen is also minimalist. Lu Yushao's painting of water was originally a dense painting method using the courtyard body, but his paintings were more flexible and varied; in the later period, his pen power became more and more vigorous and appeared vast, especially able to grasp the magnificent momentum of its vertical and horizontal opening and closing, and then coupled with the stirring of clouds and water and the contrast of the solid rocks and trees above and below, it has reached the realm of divinity, ancient and modern, and has become one of the most prominent features of Lujia landscape. This material is a water painting technique summarized by Mr. Lu Yushao, which I would like to share with my friends.

As the old saying goes, "Flowing water does not rot." "The waters of the world are flowing all the time. To express the flow of water, only the use of various lines can achieve the expected effect.

The first line to draw must be stretched long, and it must be as far as the arm can go, without the feeling of exhaustion; and the pen is round, and the yuan flat is flat. All of this depends on usual training.

The rivers and lakes are vast, the flat waves are pervasive, and the distance looks like fish scales, such as the pattern of the net, so it is called the net towel water. When drawing, the upper and lower lines must be intentionally or unintentionally aligned with each other, like a mesh.

In the above three examples, on the surface of the water, due to the oblique sunlight or the shadow of the clouds, it is not necessary to paint all of them with ripples. And with the blank space, the virtual reality can be seen.

5

The thick brush sweeps, chaotic but not chaotic, and the combination of writing rough and large freehand mountains and stones is also a method of painting flat waves.

The uproar is like a sense of depression. This is used in the landscape of Gongbi. Its painting method first hooks the frame, and then adds fine lines, which is logical and proportional, and avoid knotting.

The two mountains are sandwiched between the streams, and the water flows down to take advantage of it. The line should be elongated, the wrist center should be suspended, and when the pen is written, do not freeze.

The water flows on the stone and falls into a deep stream to form a waterfall. Due to the difference in the structure of the mountain stone, there is no similarity in the formation of the waterfall. For example, on top of a figure, two waterfalls hang side by side, the amount of water should not be equal, and there should be a fine and straight flood in order to change.

The waterfall falls down to enter the stream, which is known as the "mouth of the water". The mouth of the water is like a waterfall, different from the rock mountain, and there is no one who is the same. Between the flow of water and stones, the throat is smooth at all times, and there is both a source and a way out.

The river goes east, and the flow is rich. However, the non-advective flows down, during which the water streaks are synthesized, and the dispersion is gathered and dispersed, and it becomes a pie. The next pen can not be frozen, long-term loop, the first expensive natural.

The river passes through the Three Gorges, the high mountains on both sides of the river are bundled, the water is rapid, the spray is swirling downwards, the lines are flexed and flowing, and there must be clutches and dispersions in between, and the parties will see unevenness.

The great river flows into the Three Gorges, the river surface is flat and narrow, and the rapids are turbulent, and it is necessary to write the shape of a shock wave splashing. Recently, there are people who write about the Three Gorges, every time the sails and shadows come and go, in fact, there can be no sail shadows in the rapids, which is contrary to physics and insufficient.

Night tide stays with the middle of the moon to see. The tide of August in Qiantang is the magnificence of the world. When I first came to look at the line, I gradually grew louder and louder, and the sound came with it. As far as the shore is near, the tide head fights several inches, the lightning strikes, the ten thousand men break away, the momentum goes, and the river surface returns to calm.

The sea is vast and endless; the flood waves are uproar, and the dust is endless. Its water potential rises and falls in situ, and different rivers descend to the east, pouring thousands of miles. The waves crash on the shore, the white foam on the tip of the waves splashes, and the first thing to write about is its majesty.

Paint the water color, when the ink line is drawn, the whole drag wet, wait for about a minute, until it is not dry, in the water wave depression or ink marks are complex, set to light cyan or bluish yellow. If you draw the Yellow River, use earth yellow. Once is not enough, add a second time, and then use the original color to sketch it according to the ink.
