Traditional painting of water, the Courtyard paintings of the Song Dynasty mostly take dense and meticulous painting methods, especially the water drawings made by Ma Yuan in the Southern Song Dynasty; while the painting water of the literati painters of the Yuan Dynasty is mostly replaced by blank space, even if it is a painting mouth, the use of pen is also minimalist. Lu Yushao's painting of water was originally a dense painting method using the courtyard body, but his paintings were more flexible and varied; in the later period, his pen power became more and more vigorous and appeared vast, especially able to grasp the magnificent momentum of its vertical and horizontal opening and closing, and then coupled with the stirring of clouds and water and the contrast of the solid rocks and trees above and below, it has reached the realm of divinity, ancient and modern, and has become one of the most prominent features of Lujia landscape. This material is a water painting technique summarized by Mr. Lu Yushao, which I would like to share with my friends.

As the old saying goes, "Flowing water does not rot." "The waters of the world are flowing all the time. To express the flow of water, only the use of various lines can achieve the expected effect.
The first line to draw must be stretched long, and it must be as far as the arm can go, without the feeling of exhaustion; and the pen is round, and the yuan flat is flat. All of this depends on usual training.

The rivers and lakes are vast, the flat waves are pervasive, and the distance looks like fish scales, such as the pattern of the net, so it is called the net towel water. When drawing, the upper and lower lines must be intentionally or unintentionally aligned with each other, like a mesh.
