In the early 1980s, Teacher Shen Mingquan became a disciple of the famous painter Mr. Lu Yushao, and when he talked about this master-apprentice relationship, he had a feeling of "unintentionally planting willows and willows". At that time, Mr. Lu Lao had just been transferred from the Shanghai Academy of Chinese Painting to the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (now the China Academy of Art) as a professor of landscape painting, and a Shanghai friend came to visit Mr. Lu Lao, so he invited Mr. Ming Quan to go with him. As everyone knows, the fate of Teacher Ming Quan and painting has been quietly connected at this moment.

In the days that followed, Mr. Lu taught Mr. Ming Quan to draw by hand, starting with how to get a pen and let him constantly practice lines on the scrap newspaper. After mastering pen and ink techniques such as lines, he gradually let Mr. Ming Quan copy Song Yuan's paintings and practice calligraphy, etc. He enjoyed it, and his monthly salary was used to purchase materials and materials related to painting.
