Cheng Xiangyu is a member of the China Artists Association, the director of the Chinese Art Creation Base of the Ministry of Culture, the director and honorary chairman of the China International Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Association, the first person of Chinese color ink landscape painting, the honorary chairman of the British Vika East-West Art Alliance, the editor-in-chief of the Great Art Newspaper, and the honorary president of the Nanjing Guoqing Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute.
He graduated from the School of Art of Hebei University of Science and Technology in 1981, studied in the Chinese Painting Seminar of beijing Academy of Painting from 1990 to 1992, studied in the Landscape Department of Chinese Painting of China Academy of Art from 1999 to 2001, graduated from the Third Master Training Class of China Academy of Art in 2002, and graduated from Long Rui Studio of China Painting Research Institute in 2005. His works have been published in newspapers and periodicals such as Literary and Art Studies, Art Observation, and Fine Arts Newspaper. He has published "Selected Landscape Paintings of Cheng Xiangyu", "Ink Landscape of Cheng Xiangyu", "Contemporary Famous Scholars Library of Cheng Xiangyu Freehand Landscape" and so on.
