When it comes to his connection with painting, Pan Jianhua said that it was at the age of 16. That year, when he had just entered junior high school, he dropped out of school and followed his cousin to do decoration work, and apprenticed to the painter master.

Pan Jianhua said that this is called "eraser painting" in the local area, to paint the wooden board white or milk yellow first, use sand leather to polish the paint powder on the wooden board, and finally use the eraser to wipe the places that do not need color, and the remaining color can become a pattern.
"I first look at how others draw, then I practice on white paper myself, draw almost the same, and then carve on the board." Pan Jianhua started very quickly, and in half a year he was able to paint his own "eraser painting", and in less than two years, he was out of the school. Soon became famous in the local area, and at the age of 19, Pan Jianhua had already brought 4 apprentices.
Pan Jianhua said that at that time, he never thought that he would one day have a connection with the China Academy of Fine Arts.

Time came to the summer of 2019, Pan Jianhua saw the enrollment brochure of the China Academy of Fine Arts Seminar in the circle of friends, and with the mentality of trying it out, he drew four paintings according to the requirements and sent them to the designated mailbox. In order to go to school, Pan Jianhua also lied to his wife. "I told my wife that the tuition fee was 10,000 yuan, but it was actually 25,000 yuan. After graduating from the China Academy of Fine Arts, more and more people came to pan Jianhua to learn to paint. Nowadays, in addition to learning painters' apprentices, Pan Jianhua also has several more apprentices who learn to paint.
However, Pan Jianhua said bluntly that the money earned by teaching students and working as a painter for a day is actually similar. "The main thing is that I like it, and teaching students is also improving myself."
Although Pan Jianhua today cannot support his family by painting, and many people around him do not understand, Pan Jianhua has never had the idea of giving up.
