On the morning of April 29th, the "Looking Back and Expanding - Wu Jide Works Exhibition" sponsored by the China Academy of Art and the Zhejiang Art Museum opened at the Zhejiang Art Museum.
Xu Jiang, vice chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and director of the Academic Committee of the China Academy of Art, sent a congratulatory message. Gao Shiming, president of the China Academy of Art and chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Artists Association, Cao Xiaoyang, vice president and vice chairman of the Zhejiang Artists Association, Quan Shanshi and Zhao Zongzao, professors of the China Academy of Art, Liu Jian, former secretary and secretary general of the Secretariat of the China Artists Association, Ying Jinfei, director of the Zhejiang Art Museum, and some old professors, teachers and students of the China Academy of Art, relevant leaders, artists, media friends and representatives of Wu Jide's relatives and friends in the art world attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Fang Limin, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Dean of the School of Painting and Art.
Xu Jiang said in the congratulatory message that Wu Jide's color ink paintings are eye-catching. His paintings can be called both ink and watercolor. Through the combination of rubbing, printing, painting and dyeing, color and ink blend together, and have a unique charm. His kind of paintings, there are many fine works, "Wu Canopy Boat", "Lin Zhiqiu", "Mountains have Akita", "Huangshi Mountain Autumn", dotted line and surface arrangement, black and white gray superimposed, stepping into a kind of leather paper ink color style, the core of which lies in the use of the engraving texture. Ink is the body, color is the clothing, line is the knot, and row is the law. Mountain forest trees, stacked in rows, form a rhythm full of rhyme. Ink and color are harmonious, deep and intertwined, and full of paper. A tree gives birth to a thousand trees, a sail to promote a hundred sails, stacked grammar, laid out summer flowers, winter trees are yellow, the east mountain is majestic, and the west pond is vast.

Gao Shiming said that he knew Teacher Wu Jide when he was studying at the Academy of Fine Arts, "He looks like a bit of a wooden iron man, usually not talking, but familiar, very witty and humorous, with iron man tenderness, so in the hearts of the younger generation of our academy of fine arts, Teacher Wu's prestige is very high." He believes that Wu Jide's prints have a prominent sense of shape and solid shape. One of his outstanding abilities in the field of printmaking, that is, when facing specific objects, directly use black and white woodcuts to sketch, it can be said that he has exerted the ontological language of black and white woodcuts to a considerable degree. Wu Jide's work does not carry a particularly large number of major subjects, but it carries a painter's sincere aesthetic reaction to the world and to all the things in front of him. He presents the best aesthetic experience in a fairly free way, and the lyricism in these works is really lyrical, and the praise is really praise, which is moving.

Cao Xiaoyang believes that Wu Jide's generation has a pivotal role in the development of the printmaking department of the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts. On the one hand, it continues the spirit of emerging woodcuts; on the other hand, it insists on learning from traditional art and continuing the traditional Chinese context, providing a broader vision and more exploration of artistic language in artistic creation.

Zhao Zongzao reviewed the origin of modern Chinese printmaking for everyone, and he believes that it is precisely under the inspiration of Lu Xun's spirit that modern printmaking has come to today's prosperity. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts, Wu Jide worked and created in the Lu Xun Memorial Hall for a long time, and then returned to the Academy of Fine Arts as a teacher, and today's achievements are inseparable from the guidance of Lu Xun's spirit.

Ying Jinfei first expressed his heartfelt thanks to Wu Jide for his donation. He believes that the theme of the exhibition is "looking back" and "expanding", which not only sees wu Jide's artistic journey in life, but also reflects the spirit of thinking and inquiry outside the published paintings. Wu Jide's creation breaks the boundaries of painting forms such as printmaking, watercolor, and ink painting, presenting a new visual and structure.

Fang Limin believes that the most prominent artistic feature of Wu Jide's works is the combination of the emerging woodcut spirit of realism in China and the excellent traditional national culture that pursues truth. His exploration of ink painting broadened the original limitations of printmaking and gave us great inspiration.

The exhibition exhibits more than 100 paintings of different kinds created by Wu Jide in various periods. The exhibition is divided into two major sections, the "Looking Back" section exhibits Wu Jide's representative printmaking works and some sketch manuscripts, and the "Expanded" section exhibits the ink paintings he has devoted himself to creating in recent years, which is the first large-scale centralized display. It comprehensively shows Wu Jide's pursuit and achievements in art.

Artist Profile
Wu Jide
Born in 1942 in Yuhang, Hangzhou. He graduated from the Attached Middle School of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (now China Academy of Art) in 1963, graduated from the Printmaking Department of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in 1968, worked at the Lu Xun Memorial Hall in Shaoxing from 1969 to 1978, graduated from the graduate class of printmaking of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in 1980 and stayed on to teach at the school, and served as deputy director of the Printmaking Department, deputy director of the Degree Committee of the Academy, member of the Academic Committee of the Academy, vice chairman of the Zhejiang Artists Association, vice president and secretary general of the Zhejiang Printmakers Association.

5. Vehicles entering the museum do not need to report their license plate number in advance. The "Register License Plate Number" function in the reservation system has been discontinued during the epidemic.
6. Warm tips: The flow of people in the morning is relatively small, you can choose to visit the wrong peak.
