BYD Han has been on the market for more than a year and has proved its success with facts. This success is not only reflected in absolute sales, but also in the improvement of BYD's brand power - now there should be not many people who think that BYD's brand is LOW, but what about two years ago?

Another difference is that its main sales model is the EV version, not the DM version – the former sells more than twice as much as the latter. In this regard, although it shows that the product strength of the EV version is strong, it also shows from one side that the product strength of the DM version is not strong enough. The reason why it is not strong enough is that the DM version still uses the previous generation of BYD insertion and mixing technology.

The new Han family: It's not just DM-i

And now everyone knows that BYD's god-like "black technology" DM-i does not have a gearbox. At first glance, it is subtraction - not only is there less gearbox, but the engine displacement and power are reduced, and the speed increase is also slower, but from the perspective of terminal sales, it is not known how many times higher than the combat effectiveness of the old-fashioned DM.

The reason behind this is not so much that DM-i has an ultra-low feeder fuel consumption comparable to Toyota and Honda hybrids, but rather a revolutionary improvement in driving quality - DM-i is closer to the EV model, even when the engine is started, it will not be like the old-fashioned DM.

Not only that, the Han listed this time, plug-in versions of the power supply support fast charging. Among them, the 18.3 kWh version supports 40KW fast charging, and the 37.5 kWh version supports 80KW fast charging - especially the latter, daily use can really be regarded as an EV car.

Therefore, the listing of the new Han family seems to be just an ordinary annual change, but due to the thorough update of the insertion and mixing system, its expected value is not low - if Han DM-i can have a qualitative change in sales like Song DM-i and Tang DM-i, the sales of the entire Han family will really be "good-looking".

The new Han family: It's not just DM-i

However, good sales are not only about having good technology, but also about good prices. Compared with the old DM version, the price of the Han DM-i version is only reduced by about 7,000 yuan in the case of the same configuration.

Obviously, the decline in this price is not as good as Tang (Tang DM-i is 24,000 yuan lower than the same configuration of Tang DM). In terms of absolute price, the guidance price of Han DM-i also surpasses Tang DM-i (and before Han DM was cheaper than Tang DM).

Perhaps, it is because Han's excellent sales have given BYD more confidence, in short, in terms of price, Han DM-i has not brought too many surprises to the market.

Of course, you can also think from another angle: at the moment when various products are starting to rise in price, the price of the new Han DM-i may already include the ingredient of price increase. So on the whole, this pricing is also within a reasonable range.

Another important highlight of the Chinese plug-in mixed version is DM-P. It should be seen as a product of BYD's "flagship" mentality — that is, the appearance of the strongest technology after it is used. Dual-motor 4WD, 3.7 seconds acceleration, 202 km/h pure electric range, top-of-the-line configuration (adjustable suspension, electric steering wheel, 12-speaker Dana audio, steering wheel heating, more intelligent driving, etc.).

It is worth mentioning that DM-p is not a continuation of the previously rumored, old-fashioned DM. The technical essence of dm-p is the same as that of dm-i, that is, it abandons the transmission, relies on powerful motors, larger capacity batteries to improve performance, and uses a high-efficiency 1.5T engine dedicated to DM. Therefore, the Han DM-p version can be regarded as a pure electric car with top performance and a range of more than 1300 kilometers to some extent. Think of it this way, perhaps you will feel that its price of 319,800 yuan is "OK".

The new Han family: It's not just DM-i

The biggest change in the EV version is the battery, which has increased its capacity from 76.9 degrees to 85.4 degrees, and the battery life has also increased accordingly (CLTC 715KM). Of course, the price increase is also unsustainable. For example, compared with the old honor type, the guidance price is increased by 9,000 yuan, and the overall configuration is slightly lower. However, it is still that sentence, and this problem should be looked at in conjunction with this year's "price increase tide".

Another major change in the EV version is the product mix. The low-endurance and low-priced versions of the old model have been cancelled, which makes the starting price of the new model reach 269,800 yuan instead of the old model's 214,800 yuan. This is also normal. First, with the support of terminal data, low-priced and low-end allocation is not the mainstream; second, from the perspective of the market segment, it is easier to get recognition for high-end allocation; third, in the early days of Han listing, due to the first time to get such a "high-end" car, more or less lack of confidence, now it is obviously different.

In short, it can be seen that for its most important products, BYD still spends a lot of thought on the product structure and product strategy of the new Han family. Whether these thoughts can help Han to go to a higher level in sales is worth paying attention to.
