Lian Xiaohe (1926-2013), a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, an advisor to the Changsha Calligraphers Association, a tutor of the first calligraphy training class of the Hunan Calligraphers Association, and one of the founders of the Changsha Calligraphers Association. As early as the mid-1980s, shortly after the establishment of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, Lian Xiaohe's "Essays on Calligraphy" had an important impact on the calligraphy circles in Hunan, and since then a series of theoretical articles have been invited to participate in various important calligraphy seminars across the country, and they are representatives of the early calligraphy theory research in the contemporary book world in Hunan. In addition to calligraphy theory, Lian Xiaohe has also made great achievements in calligraphy creation and calligraphy and painting collection, and his calligraphy is highly ancient, and all bodies can be capable, especially cursive writing, which is the highest achievement and is deeply praised in the calligraphy circle.
In this exhibition, more than 100 works of calligraphy and paintings and documents of Xiaohe are exhibited, and most of them are self-retained pieces that have not been shown before his death. The exhibition starts from the two main lines of scholarship and collection, and is intended to explore the way of learning and art of practicing Xiaohe. At the same time, some of the documents and collections on display in the exhibition will also help the audience to understand the learning and character of the older generation of calligraphers, in order to practice xiaohe's spirit of learning and calligraphy art can be better passed on to future generations and inspire those who come.
