Elbow song, known as the "living fossil of folk dance". The character's costumes, faces, and props are all imitated from opera, which is a dance art that expresses the content of opera. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty (1735), the then Lingwang Fayuan of Ningling County was very fond of folk art, and at his initiative, Guo Kaijiang, a native of Nanjie Street in Ningling County, organized locals to study elbow songs and established the Elbow Song Society. It has been seven generations since it reached Cheng Guisheng.
The performance of the elbow song is divided into two parts: "upper branch" and "lower branch". The lower branch actor wears a complete and firm iron suit, which is commonly known as the iron shoulder in art, which is a major prop for the lower branch actor.
