In fact, sandwiched between traditional giants and new forces, there is another independent brand car company, that is, GAC.

It has independently become a new force, Aean, and now it can sell 20,000+ a month, ranking first among new forces. The hybrid sequence is left to Trumpchi, which has both the self-developed GMC hybrid system and the first car company to introduce the Toyota THS hybrid system. This is very reflective of the characteristics of GAC, that is, "all want", and all are doing well.

GAC is actually one of the earliest enterprises involved in new energy research and development in China, as early as 2009, it has begun to carry out research and development of new energy technology.

In 2011, the pure electric version of the Trumpchi GA5 appeared on the streets of Guangzhou as a demonstration model. In 2014, Trumpchi launched the first range-extended electric vehicle GA5 in China, which is known as the "nuclear power" of GAC's large-scale autonomy strategy, and the TEDA International Forum of that year directly selected it as the "designated VIP reception car", which shows its recognition. In the same year, GAC launched the first model based on the pure electric platform GE3, and in the same year established GAC Aean New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd., decided to gradually divest the electric sequence from the parent platform, which was a far-sighted action at the time.

After that, everyone knows, Trumpchi's hybrid technology continues to develop, in 2019 launched the first generation of GMC hybrid control system, won the title of "world's top ten transmissions" that year, in terms of performance and efficiency reached the international first-class level. Then toyota's THS system was introduced, and the first model was selected as the second-generation GS8, which achieved a good reputation.

Aion also lived up to expectations, producing two explosive models, Aion Y and Aion S, like Aion Y delivered 9501 new cars in March, a 218% increase from the previous month, becoming the highest-selling domestic pure electric SUV (excluding A00-class scooters). At the same time, Aeon also has a high-end flagship such as Aion LX, which recently launched the first model with a battery life of more than 1000km, using the self-developed nano sponge silicon anode chip battery technology.

GAC also has its own ADiGO 4.0 intelligent driving interconnection ecosystem, which can realize automatic overtaking, automatic lane change, single lane cruising, automatic up and down ramps and other functions on highways and ramps, and is also ahead of the industry in the field of intelligent driving.

In general, GAC started relatively early in the field of new energy, and each step is relatively solid, and there is almost no "waste" of energy. For example, I did not do the 48V light hybrid system that is almost eliminated now, nor did I do the pure parallel hybrid system of the German car, nor did I think about "oil to electricity".

GAC began to spend a lot of effort to do a professional pure electric platform early, remember that it was ready to invest 3 billion yuan to do pure electric platform, to do their own efficient drive system, but also to invest in research and development of power batteries, many people's first reaction is THAT GAC is crazy, now look at this is definitely a visionary car company.

(2) Based on the level of 100,000-200,000, GAC officially began to exert its strength?

In March this year, GAC Aean's full range of models sold more than 20,000 units, if you count the sales of GAC Trumpchi hybrid series, it is definitely the third pole in the field of new energy, can be compared with BYD and Tesla.

And it has done this mainly because of the rise of 100,000-200,000 new energy models.

As we all know, in the field of fuel vehicles, the highest sales volume is actually 100,000-200,000 models, "God Car" Xuanyi, Langyi H6, which basically fall at this level. The new energy models in the early years paid more attention to the "head and tail", and the hottest cars were either model 3, Xiaopeng P7, which were quasi-performance cars, which were treated as large toys, or hongguang MINI EV, Euler black cat and other scooters.

Gac Motor, on the other hand, has taken a different path, focusing more on the 100,000-200,000-level model building, and several of its key models are also distributed in this level. Positioned in the 150,000-200,000 level Aion S is the same, the B-class sedan body has the space of the C-class sedan, the performance has reached a first-class level, and it has a strong temptation for young users.

In terms of hybridization, GAC chose to "walk on two legs". It equipped the second-generation GS8 with Toyota's THS system, but replaced the power source with its own 2.0TM engine, which has a stronger power output than Highlander's 2.5L hybrid engine and also has extremely high efficiency. As a C-class SUV, the comprehensive fuel consumption is 5.3L/100km.

At the same time, GAC's self-developed GMC hybrid technology has not fallen, and the GS4 PHEV listed in early 2020 will achieve a feeder fuel consumption of 4.6L/100km. The upcoming two blockbuster new cars, the EMKOO mass production version and the Shadow Leopard HEV, use the latest GMC 2.0 technology, and it is said that there has been a lot of progress in performance and sales. I don't believe you can pay attention to Trumpchi's public account, when it began to frequently forecast a new car, indicating that there will be a big move at the technical level, and EMKOO is the recent protagonist.

(3) Suitable is the king, how should GAC New Energy choose?

Oil prices have skyrocketed recently, and many people have begun to consider electric and hybrid models. Earlier we talked about BYD's model categories and Tesla's technology accumulation, and today we also talked about GAC's new energy sequence.

First of all, at the level of 100,000-200,000, the advantages of GAC electric vehicles are still quite large. The specific performance is that it is more real than the new first-line forces such as Wei Xiaoli, and it is "reliable" than the second-line new forces such as Zero Run and Weima. At least you don't have to worry about encountering bad things like WM EX5 "locking the electric door", nor will you encounter problems such as stalls and restrictions. Compared with BYD in Guangdong, Aehan's car feels more foreign.

Taking the Aion S PLUS as an example, the practicality needless to say, after all, it is a mid-level car with 4 meters and 8 meters upwards. The value is high enough, and the 0-100km/h acceleration of 6.8 seconds is also enough for daily use. It is similar to Aion Y, which may not be as exaggerated as other new forces in terms of configuration, but it is definitely a good partner that saves users worry and money.

Of course, the high-end model Aian also has, Aion LX is an example, the pricing is above 300,000, performance, endurance, intelligent configuration aspects are indeed full. But there are more choices at this level, and its advantages are not as great as those of 100,000-200,000 levels.

In the field of hybrid, in fact, GAC's technical accumulation is even stronger, and it is one of the few car companies in China that repairs two sets of systems at the same time. There are both toyota THS systems introduced in the "original taste" and self-developed high-performance hybrid GMC hybrid systems. The former is mainly driven by a high-power engine, and the motor mainly intervenes at low speed to make up for its lack of efficiency, and the latter is mainly based on the output of a high-power motor, and the engine is mainly added at medium and high speed, which is insufficient for the part of the motor efficiency.

Both systems have advantages, and users can choose according to their preferences. Whether it is the GS8 dual engine, or the GS4 PHEV, or the upcoming EMKOO hybrid, it is very competitive in the same class.

Compared with Tesla and BYD, GAC seems to be a car company with less strong new energy colors, but this is not surprising that its strength is weak.
