Middle-class families, "Ice Fight"

This is the process of Liu Hanxiang gradually approaching and understanding the middle-class family in Beijing. Many years ago, a rural dad complained to him, "If I had money, I could educate my children." Liu Hanxiang wants to know what is the connection between education and money?

As a father, Yu Shihui's time is accurately calculated.

The time to drive from home to the ice rink is one and a half hours without traffic jams; when he arrives at the ice rink, his son Yu Lifan changes into an ice hockey suit, puts on protective gear and helmet layer by layer, and puts on skates for 15 minutes. An ice training session lasts 60 or 90 minutes, and when the training is over, it takes 15 minutes for my son to take off his clothes and drive home. The entire process took 5 hours, which is the result of maximizing efficiency under Yu Shihui's ideal state.

But for the most part, he couldn't. Even on weekends, he had to pick up his son Yu Lifan at 5 o'clock in the morning, avoid traffic rushes, plan the best route between different interest classes, and finish a game of football before rushing to send his son to a Go lesson. In order to avoid the number limit, he bought two cars to change the car, and the accelerator was always pressed to the tightest, causing a lot of violations. He took all the driver's licenses in the family and deducted points, but still "was fined more than 2,000 yuan a year."

Similar states are common in families with "ice babies". In order to maintain the "foot feel" and improve the skills, parents who are required will let their children go to ice every day. Parking spaces outside the ice rink are always tight, and parents drive RVs to pick up and drop off their children, and want to make the most of their time on the road – it's always more comfortable to write homework in a motorhome.

Last fall, Yu Lifan went to junior high school, and shangbing changed from once a day to going to the ice rink three or four times a week, Yu Shihui breathed a little, "Now he is more professional than me, I can't guide him well." However, on weekend afternoons, he still takes Yu Lifan to practice shooting and hand movements in the open space of the community. This state, from 2015 to the present, Yu Shihui has lasted for seven years.

Compared with the basketball courts and football fields that can be found everywhere, there are not many ice rinks that can train ice hockey in Beijing. Sometimes, in order to catch other ice rink games, Yu Shihui spends seven or eight hours a day on ice hockey, while his son may only spend an hour on the ice. He felt more and more that it was not rational for his son to learn hockey in the first place. "If I had been a little more rational, I would have figured this out more clearly in the beginning and made him stop at a few crucial moments."

Yu Shihui is an entrepreneur of a technology company. He is accustomed to accounting for the cost of each choice, and the corresponding input-output ratio. But for children to learn ice hockey, the earliest is out of chance. At that time, Yu Lifan was 6 years old, because his mother got two experience tickets for the ice rink near Zhangjia, Yu Lifan put on his skates and went to ice. The big children playing ice hockey around them waved their hockey clubs and whistled past, and Yu Lifan was full of curiosity. Yu Shihui remembered that many years ago he had seen a film about ice hockey, "very intense, very content, I think if I have a son in the future, I must let him play this." 」 He took his son to the coach and shoved him into that team.

Yu Shihui is from Qinghai and has an obsession with "manhood," but his son Yu Lifan is "literary and temperamental," plays with children, suffers losses and remains silent, Yu Shihui often thinks, "How can a boy be like this, although he can't teach him to fight, but the strength of a man must always be." Intense ice hockey became Yu Shihui's way of giving his son "manhood".

Later, Yu Shihui became the famous "wolf father" in the ice baby circle. One mother described how when her child's team played against Yu Lifan's team, "the whole stand was Yu Dad's voice" and "Yu Lifan did this, Yu Lifan did that, guided her son to play, especially impatient." She has long heard of Yu Shihui, "Always scold the children on the side of the court, you have to scold the family, let our children see how bad it is." 」 In her account, last year, Yu Lifan may have transferred to her child's team, "We are all paying attention."

Yu Shihui gave Yu Lifan a leg press

Documentary filmmaker Liu Hanxiang also noticed Yu's father and son after a match. At that time, Yu Shihui shook the ice hockey club in his hand a few times, and grabbed the end that was close to the clapping surface, and the club looked like it was about to hit Yu Lifan, and Yu Lifan was so aggrieved that he was about to cry. It's a tense scene from a middle-class family. Liu Hanxiang passed by, held up the camera and rushed up, "I am particularly afraid that he will turn his head and beat me and ask you what you are shooting, after all, it is emotional." After training the child, Yu Shihui turned to look at Liu Hanxiang, who explained, "I want to record the process of the child playing." To Liu Hanxiang's surprise, Yu Shihui said, "It's okay, you shoot it."

Later, Yu Shihui told Liu Hanxiang why he was willing to be filmed, why he was willing to show his "fierceness" to outsiders, "I don't know if this is right, you shoot me, in a few years, I will have self-reflection material." 」 Liu Hanxiang found that because of ice hockey, he entered a field that he had never thought of before: the repetition and entanglement of middle-class families in education.

2

On Children's Day 2017, Liu Hanxiang took his documentary "Ma Lan's Song" to Beijing Pi Village for public welfare screening, and in the previous six years, he shot four documentaries, three of which featured rural children. He is in his 30s and has a face that looks younger and more vivid than his actual age, which is very popular with children. But at the end of the screening, a child on the scene muttered, "It's not fun for us to play hockey."

The person who said this was Qu Ruichen, the eight-year-old son of Xiao Hongwei, a public welfare screening volunteer. Qu Ruichen was in the second grade of a public primary school in Haidian at the time, he was born active, the grades are average, Xiao Hongwei brought his son to Pi Village, hoping that through the observation of the children in the urban village, let his son feel "another side of life". But for Qu Ruichen, being stuck in a chair and watching a documentary with no plot is "like going to class."

Liu Hanxiang was born in the countryside of Shandong, used to running in the countryside, knew nothing about ice hockey, and had a natural sense of alienation and curiosity about the children's games in the city. With a sense of "it's hard to empathize" and a lot of prejudice, he wondered, "Why did this group of people send their children to play hockey, is it to show off?" The next day, he went to the ice hockey rink where Qu Ruichen was training.

For a long time, hockey was seen as a game for the rich – all equipment was imported, coaches were scarce, and most learning and games needed to be "flying". The 2010 Beijing Ice Dragons, a family-nurtured ice hockey team made up entirely of wealthy families in Beijing, was recorded in the media, with Song Andong, born in 1997, and Yingrudi, born in 1998. In this team, the team members wear Prada's glasses, live in an oversized villa with a separate pool, and have a driver to pick them up and go. In order to play with their children, some families spend two or three million a year. Later, eight families in the team chose to immigrate with their children.

But on June 2, 2017, standing outside Beijing's ice hockey rink for the first time, Liu Hanxiang discovered that the adults who watched their children play on the sidelines were not the "rich or expensive" group of ten years ago. There are four or five-year-old children on the ice rink, holding a small chair and sliding forward little by little, falling down, standing up, and falling down. This shattered his previous impression of the coddled children of the city. At the end of the training, Liu Hanxiang said to Xiao Hongwei, "I'm going to shoot this."

A few months later, Liu Hanxiang's child was born, and Xiao Hongwei learned that when he went to the ice rink, Liu Hanxiang was mentally building how to be a father. He was 31 years old, had just gained a foothold in Beijing, learned that his wife was pregnant, "five thunders", filmed the hockey family, he tried to record the way others taught their children, to rehearse the educational process he would face.

It took half a year for Liu Hanxiang to screen out the main characters of "Ice Moments" from the children of an ice hockey team. One by one, he established contact with the parents of the team, and the parents were often willing to record the scenes of their children playing, but when he offered to go to the house to shoot, most families refused. Liu Hanxiang understood that kind of vigilance, and he admitted that he was also wary of middle-class families at first.

In the end, he chose the three forwards in Qu Ruichen's Flying Bear team, Qu Ruichen, Yu Lifan and Zhai Zinan, all three boys were born in 2009, he was curious, three urban middle-class families with completely different educational concepts, what kind of children will be educated, and what kind of growth paths these children will have after that.

Reflecting the relationship between money and education, ice hockey is a great example. No longer the upper echelon of the chain of contempt in the early years, in 2015, Beijing won the right to host the 2022 Winter Olympics, proposing to "let 300 million people go to the ice and snow", after which more and more indoor ice rinks, the number of people on the ice increased, the cost of ice was greatly reduced compared with ten years ago, and the enlightenment stage cost tens of thousands of yuan a year, "almost like learning the piano", Xiao Hongwei said. Such a price allows middle-class families to access and embrace the sport.

Qu Ruichen loves ice hockey. Children's ankles are fragile, can not withstand the strength of ice sports, generally require 4 years old to go up, Qu Ruichen took the initiative to ask for ice on the day of his 4th birthday. He is a child with athletic talent, playing ice hockey to learn to skate on the ice first, the child supports the small chair step by step to move forward, generally it takes a month or two to find a sense of balance, Qu Ruichen only used a day or two. Sliding at high speed on ice, he needs to maintain 90 degrees between his calves and thighs, and he seems to be born with it.

But this kind of talent, for a long time, made Xiao Hongwei feel bad. Qu Ruichen was too active, Xiao Hongwei was often not paying attention, Qu Ruichen had already climbed from the flat ground to the roof, trees, or along the gaps in the building, jumped under the overpass. She was only a mother at the age of 39, and she was careful to raise a child for the first time. The child could not walk, so she first pulled her bow and arrow full and went to various parenting classes to learn how to "be a mother scientifically". The children are slightly older, English, art, Go, equestrianism, guitar, martial arts and many other interest classes, Xiao Hongwei took Qu Ruichen to try one by one, "like many mothers, even more radical than most mothers."

By the time they reached school age, one assessment data showed that Qu Ruichen had an IQ higher than 96 percent of the children, but lower attention than his peers. Xiao Hongwei took the child to and fro between major hospitals, "where there is attention training, take the child to go", but after more than a year of training, the results were minimal, she began to reflect, since Qu Ruichen's ice hockey is played well, ice hockey is a sport that requires absolute concentration, why do you have to take the child to constantly "ask for it"? She felt guilty about being a mother, stopped other interest classes, and focused on hockey, "after all, children like it." She wanted to go from an anxious mom to a mother who was always gentle and committed to her children.

The child is on the ice, she accompanies her all the way, she is patient, careful, and even pays attention to the temperature of the first sip of water that her son drinks after he goes off the ice. In addition to accompanying her son, she drank tea, burned incense, and read ancient texts to cope with her emotions. Qu Ruichen said that when he was a child, he was naughty, and his mother was angry, but she was still reluctant to beat him, "in the end she was angry with herself."

In contrast, Yu Lifan's childhood was a different story. Before the age of 6, Yu Lifan almost never attended cram school, and every day there were "various botanical gardens, zoos, art galleries, idyllic". Yu Shihui's father image is loving, but when Yu Lifan entered the kindergarten, Yu Shihui suddenly found that the children around him seemed to have a lot of things, and the competition began, "Other children can do anything, why can't their own children try?" Unconsciously, they were swept in and dragged away."

He began to take Yu Lifan to run between various interest classes, including stuffing Yu Lifan into the ice hockey team, when the players were full, the club suggested that Yu Lifan learn to keep the goal, Yu Shihui refused, "We are going to fight." After consultation, Yu Lifan finally entered the team. He originally wanted his wife to accompany him to the training, but in the first big class, only 10 minutes on the field, Yu Lifan cried and went down. He couldn't grab the ball. Yu Shihui thought, after all, it is a boy's sport, and it is time to need his father to take over the baton.

Yu Shihui is good at task decomposition, and he makes a learning plan for Yu Lifan, "a small goal to achieve a small goal, a little friend to surpass one child after another". This kind of chasing other teammates, Yu Lifan lasted for three or four years, after the epidemic, sometimes unable to go to class, Yu Shihui took his son to the park to practice movements, went out at 3 p.m., went home at 7 or 8 p.m., every day, so every day, sometimes Yu Lifan felt that it was almost over, Yu Shihui still felt that it was not enough, he has been urging his son, "otherwise it will be eliminated."

The joy of ice hockey seems to exist only in the moment of achievement in this family, "You can't only rely on the child's source power to drive, in the case of insufficient source power, you need parents to work hard." 」

Yu Shihui had a significant anxiety. After passing the college entrance examination, he came to Beijing from Qinghai, "there is only one road in front of him", "Xining is still too small, always want to stand on a bigger and broader stage to see." In his description, the Qinghai region has low oxygen content, high incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in the elderly, where he goes, his parents will follow him to where to settle down, and he wants to create a better living environment for his family from the bottom of his heart. Becoming a new generation of Beijingers, he feels that he is "wrapped up and moving forward" all the time, taekwondo, painting, Go, ice hockey, he has to try it out and bet in many places. Having a second child, he wants his younger brother to have more "choices" than his older brother.

This requires a strong fighting spirit, and Yu Lifan's "literary tone" worries him. "Ice Moment" records such a picture: Yu Lifan sings "Angel among the Devil", yu Shihui asks, "Do you think I am an angel or a devil?" He said, "If Dad doesn't do the devil, you'll meet a devil who is even more devilish than Dad."

Middle-class families, "Ice Fight"

Yu Lifan practiced under the "persecution" of his father, Yu Shihui

Unlike Yu Shihui's setting up for Yu Lifan, Xiao Hongwei wanted to follow his son Qu Ruichen. When Qu Ruichen was a child, she wanted to find a school for all the ice rinks, but she failed to do so, so she retreated to the second place and chose a public primary school with all the ice hockey teams in Haidian District. At that time, there were only 7 schools with ice hockey teams in Beijing. After the successful olympic bid, the private Huijia School in Shunyi took the lead in building an ice rink and launched the "double excellent project" of ice hockey and learning (academic performance and ice hockey can be excellent, children can get full scholarships), Xiao Hongwei took Qu Ruichen to this international school. She said that making it easier for children to play hockey is on the one hand, and another consideration, "is also to reduce the pressure of children's learning and be more confident in the group." Qu Ruichen mentioned that he wanted to play in the NHL (North American Ice Hockey League), Xiao Hongwei told her husband, "The desire of children to play professionally is getting stronger and stronger, and we as parents have to pave the way for our children."

At that time, Qu Ruichen's Flying Bears team had already gone abroad for training several times, and parents began to discuss whether to take their children abroad to play, which meant higher expenses, and one parent had to go abroad to accompany them. Zhai Zinan in the team has already embarked on this path. On the ice hockey team, Zhai Zinan is "someone else's child", his father is the general manager of an ice rink, and he always chooses small classes instead of 10 people together. For his sake, when his lawyer's mother quit her job and went to Canada with him, he wanted to "advance to the second tier of the Canadian Youth Hockey League, then the OHL (Ontario Hockey League), and finally to the NHL." The parents talked for a while, "Fighting to the end, it became spelling daddy and fighting mommy."

In the interview with People, almost all parents will say, "We don't compare ourselves to other children," but "other children" are always present in our conversations.

The cost of ice has been reduced, but after the enlightenment period, the "aristocratic" atmosphere of ice hockey still remains. According to the most conventional training requirements, each "ice baby" has to attend at least 3-4 small lessons and a big class a week, and also play another game, which costs about 12,000 yuan a month. A set of equipment needs tens of thousands of yuan, which needs to be replaced frequently with the increase of children's height and routine training losses; an imported ice hockey club costs thousands of yuan, and some children can break two in a month. If you want to go abroad for training and going out to play games, the annual expenses will be hundreds of thousands of yuan.

There was no experience in overseas life, during that time, Xiao Hongwei worked hard to read the information of various overseas hockey schools; money was also part of the pressure, and Qu Ruichen's grandfather was willing to help. She tried to push Qu Ruichen abroad, but Qu Ruichen's father did not support it, "this road is too bitter." In Xiao Hongwei's understanding, her husband's sentence "too bitter" is not only the hardship of children's training and the hardship of becoming a professional athlete, but also the whole family has to be wrapped up and suffered. He told Xiao Hongwei, "Children can play ball, but can adults not be so tired?"

After Zhai Zinan went abroad, Yu Shihui felt that he had made great sacrifices for Li Fan to play, but "there is really something that makes it difficult for us to look back." From the perspective of real cost, he could not play for his children and completely shift the focus of family work and life abroad. Looking at the original intention of letting Yu Lifan play, "just to give him one more choice", and the professional player "this road is too narrow after all".

He decided not to go abroad, let Yu Lifan develop in China, and adjusted his route to adapt to the domestic environment.

Regarding the matter of being a professional hockey player, Qu Ruichen's current coach Yang Zhenyu provided another sample.

Yang Zhenyu, who was born in Harbin in 1991, remembers that once the temperature fell below 0 degrees, the school would hold ice hockey classes, the ice rink was poured with water outdoors, they stood in the cold, the down jacket was put on the outside of the protective gear, and the ice was taken off. He did not have good results, ice hockey was his "only way out", "into the Harbin second team, then go to the Harbin first team, the Harbin first team is almost the highest level in the country, and then go abroad to play", there is no other choice.

After entering the Harbin Second Team, Yang Zhenyu became a professional athlete, and the cost of training was borne by the state. The team divided more than 20 ice hockey players into 4 groups, with the first two groups being the main players and the back two groups being substitutes. If you are placed in the fourth group, there is almost no possibility of playing. During the long and boring training, Yang Zhenyu felt the subtle change of his position all the time, the rotation cycle of this change was about half a year, he was very stressed, and sometimes when he woke up and opened his eyes, he felt that he was "almost out of the way".

In 2009, Yang Zhenyu represented China for the first time in Estonia to participate in the World U18 Men's Ice Hockey Championship, which was also his first time abroad. The team of more than 20 people, all members from Harbin, Qiqihar and Jiamusi. Most of the players are from ordinary families, and some players even need ice hockey to "change their destiny". China was divided into Division B A, and this match was played eight times, and Yang Zhenyu and his teammates tried their best to win only one. This is the first time he has intuitively felt the gap between Chinese ice hockey and the world standard.

Six years later, after playing the World Collegiate Ice Hockey Winter Games, Yang Zhenyu retired from Harbin and came to Beijing to become an ice hockey coach. He found that these children who studied hockey were completely different from their own generation: ice hockey was by no means their only option. Before going to ice, they had taken a variety of interest classes and almost all of them played the piano. They are far removed from the national system, and almost all of them fight as a family unit. Some parents who send their children will say bluntly, "Playing ice hockey in China is like playing table tennis in Africa," and they will also tell him, "We learn this just to go abroad so that we can better integrate into the circle of foreign children."

This also makes these children different from the children who learn ice hockey in the tradition. In the big class, once a child fell, all the "ice mothers" flocked to it, eagerly confirming whether it was their own child, only once, a child fell down on the ice rink, half a day did not get up, all the mothers rushed up, only the child's father was still there, Yang Zhenyu could not help but go up and reminded, go and see, this father got up. But Yang Zhenyu said that in fact, the father knew that the child was wearing such a thick protective gear that it could not be broken.

When taking the children to Russia and Sweden for training, Xiao Hongwei also found that even if the children there fell, they could get up on their own, and they were more wild, even accompanied by their parents. In contrast, the state of China's "ice mother" quickly watching is "Chinese characteristics".

These parents and children do not yet fully understand the cruelty of the sport of ice hockey. Their protective gear is fully equipped, and there are metal masks on their helmets, which is "almost the safest movement". In professional hockey, athletes glide on the ice at a top speed of up to 100 miles per hour, accompanied by intense physical confrontation, but children under the age of 14 are only allowed to squeeze on the field, and collisions are strictly prohibited. Qu Ruichen heard that his other coach's upper front teeth were all dentures — the original teeth were knocked off by the opponent's club during the game. He talked about it repeatedly, and it was probably the first time he realized that the cruelty of hockey was so close to him.

According to data released by China's State General Administration of Sport, as of the beginning of 2021, There were 654 standard ice rinks in China, an increase of 317% over 2015. Beijing's Haidian District has also become an ice and snow demonstration area, and ice hockey teams have gradually become the standard in almost every school. As of December 2020, the number of registered ice hockey players in China has reached 9,506, ranking 14th in the world. Now, that number is growing.

However, there is no policy that can point out that ice hockey is beneficial to Chinese students. The regionality of ice hockey is still very strong, except for the three cities of Harbin, Qiqihar and Jiamusi, which have formed ice and snow traditions due to the climate, only first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen can gather "ice baby families". No public school can clearly point out that children who play ice hockey can rely on their hockey skills to get preferential treatment and convenience in the middle school entrance examination and college entrance examination. After middle school, the heavy pressure of schoolwork is also squeezing the ice time of the "ice dolls" as a hobby. Hockey or academics? It has become the choice faced by many families.

After the age of 10, children who play hockey will usher in the first fork of their lives. Zhai Zinan going abroad may delay the anxiety of this choice, in Canada, the pressure of coursework before high school is far less intense than at home, in the middle school stage, Zhai Zinan can have more time to invest in ice hockey training, this stage is also the most "energetic" period to shape an ice hockey player. The ice fathers and mothers who stayed in China also hoped that the mouth of ice hockey to help further education could be loosened, but in Liu Hanxiang's view, "basically it has been abolished."

Now, Yang Zhenyu's teaching philosophy is "Happy Hockey". His career told him that the further he went on the road of ice hockey, the more people who voluntarily quit, the less competitive the rest of them were. According to the standards of the international ice hockey system, children under the age of 14 are more entertainment-oriented, and after the age of 14, they have just begun to exert their strength. But in China's market hockey coaches, few have ever brought teams over the age of 16, "too few people to form a team."

In 2020, the covid-19 outbreak caused the whole world to change. After four years of shooting ice hockey, Liu Hanxiang decided to wrap up the film. The material was edited for a year, and when combing and editing these materials, Liu Hanxiang kept a melody echoing in his head, "The Answer Flutters in the Wind". In those scattered fragments, parents and children are suspicious, entangled, and swaying. He thought about the title for a long time, and finally took it as "Ice Moments" because "the choices of these middle-class families on the ice are like walking on thin ice every moment".

"They've been thinking, they're reflecting. This is the biggest truth about these 80-year-old parents." Liu Hanxiang said that he felt that a new batch of middle-class families in Beijing, like duckweed in the times, always wanted to try to grasp something, but they could not catch it, education is like a gamble, parents "bet in many places", hoping to win more than an inch in a certain aspect.

In addition to the film, after the epidemic, the hockey family has also undergone new changes.

Qu Ruichen decided not to go abroad, and his childhood dream of playing in the NHL rarely talked about it. Mother Xiao Hongwei's entanglement has also come to an end, and her tension about her son's studies is getting smaller and smaller. She feels that 75% of the parents in the "Ice Baby" circle are extremely eager for their children's success, and now she has become the remaining 25%. When the ice mothers were chatting together about which cram school their children had signed up for, Xiao Hongwei would think, "My children can't do this, can they?" Qu Ruichen is about to enter junior high school, and he still maintains the frequency of going to the ice at least once a day.

For ice hockey, Xiao Hongwei does not have much expectation now, Qu Ruichen's international school is an IB system school, even if he has not become a professional ice hockey player, ice hockey expertise can also become one of the plus points when he applies to overseas universities. But that's how utilitarianism works, she cherishes those moments when Qu Ruichen enjoys ice, she once went skating with her son on a small lake on the outskirts of Beijing, qu Ruichen told her more than once that his favorite thing is to listen to the wind whistling in his ears when skating. During the Beijing Winter Olympics, Qu Ruichen watched the Russian ice hockey match against Sweden at home (his former head coach was a Russian national), the game went to the third set, Sweden suddenly caught up, the two teams equalized the goal, Qu Ruichen jumped up, "Mom, do you know how happy they are when they score goals?" This kind of happiness is something you can't experience!"

Xiao Hongwei felt, "For the sake of his son's happy experience, it is worth it to pay more."

Middle-class families, "Ice Fight"

In the Russian hotel, Qu Ruichen taught his mother about the new skills he had learned

Children who stay in China and want to continue to play ice hockey, as well as the opportunity to be selected for the Beijing youth ice hockey team, Yu Lifan also ran, for the first time, he was not selected, Yu Shihui felt that he was negligent. He once again exerted rationality, dismantled the selection project, and trained Yu Lifan in a targeted manner, and the next year, Yu Lifan was selected.

But Yu Lifan has already started junior high school. Yu Shihui felt more and more that he and his children were wrapped up in ice hockey. Ice hockey takes up too much time, which makes Yu Shihui feel that it was not a rational choice to let his son play ice hockey with a "pure" purpose. "Basketball, football, children can play happily when they go downstairs with the ball", but ice hockey has become the biggest carrier for father and son to get along, and the sunk costs that have been paid make the family unable to give up.

He listened to Zhai Zinan's father say that during the Canadian Ice Hockey League, in the 4 and a half months of the season, Zhai Zinan had to play 150 games, and at this level, it was no longer possible to exchange results by hard work alone. To Yu Shihui's happiness, in addition to ice hockey, Yu Lifan's academic performance is good, and Go has basically reached the highest level of his age, which is the result of the "wolf father's" many bets.

After 4 years of shooting ice hockey families, Liu Hanxiang feels more and more that "ice hockey is actually a sports product, a consumption upgrade", "the middle-class family in our city, its education consumption is also upgrading, and ice hockey is being popularized on a large scale, it is relatively fresh, everyone should choose a fresher, more in line with the current period of things." However, after the "consumption upgrade" of education, parents are gradually returning to their rationality in ice hockey.

Now, Liu Hanxiang has also begun to adapt to the role of a father in a first-tier city, and his 4-year-old daughter asks him, "Daddy, where are you from?" "Shandong people." "What about Mom?" "Shanxi people." "Oh, the kindergarten teacher said, I'm from Beijing."

Liu Hanxiang found it funny, but he also began to understand the choices of hockey parents, no matter what posture they took, they struggled to lift their children and let them live a new, more selective life. He thought that if his daughter was going to learn ice hockey too, he would accompany her, at least not to suppress her. One day at the beginning of the year, he took his daughter to learn roller skating and said out loud, "Lift your legs up!" Before the words could be heard, he was stunned for a second and hit himself—his tone and words were exactly the same as Yu Shihui in the film. "How did I say the same thing as the parents in the film?" At this moment, he realized that his battlefield was coming.
