Produced by Beijing Xinxin Xiangyang Film and Television Culture Development Co., Ltd. and directed by the up-and-coming young director Liu Hanxiang, the documentary film "Moments on Ice" was released nationwide today (January 7). The film focuses on three teenage golfers growing up in different environments and the stories of their families who make efforts to better accompany their children in hockey training. Among them, No. 66 Yu Lifan and his father Yu Shihui left a deep impression on the audience.

Yu Lifan and his father in "Ice Moments".
Originally in line with the original intention of "exercising and tempering personality", Yu Lifan, who came into contact with ice hockey, did not expect to enter the U12 group of the Beijing youth ice hockey team step by step, and won the championship at last year's ice hockey U12 national championship.
Two days before the 2022 New Year's Day holiday, he was still playing in the Beijing Ice Hockey League and training in the evening. For such a training rhythm and intensity, Yu Lifan's father Yu Shihui said, "After playing ice hockey for nearly six years, he is used to it." In the past six years, in addition to the economic cost, the family has paid more time costs, but Yu Shihui has also had more time to accompany the children, "for me personally, there may be some growth." As for the future planning of ice hockey, he said that he did not force his son to take this road, everything went naturally.
The road to growth
Set a small target first, and then go to each one to break
In the eyes of his father Yu Shihui, his son has a strong enthusiasm for many things and is a child who is quite willing to try. Before learning ice hockey, Yu Lifan also learned many other sports, such as taekwondo, painting, Go, etc., and finally slowly focused his interests on Go and ice hockey.
Before touching ice hockey, Yu Shihui felt that this was a sport especially suitable for boys, with a lot of collisions, passion, and speed, "boys should still play sports like this." At that time, Yu Shihui did not think about what results his son had achieved in ice hockey, and hoped that he could be stronger and participate in more sports that boys should do.
Now it seems that Yu Shihui's purpose has been achieved. Ice hockey has relatively high requirements for the physical and psychological endurance of athletes, and as a collective sport, it requires collective cooperation and team awareness, Yu Shihui feels that his son Yu Lifan has no problem in these two aspects.
Although Yu Lifan began to learn ice hockey at the age of 6, in the ice hockey circle in Beijing, many children began to learn at the age of four or five, so when Yu Lifan first started learning, he was in a state of chasing others. Set a small goal first, and then overcome them one by one. "For example, when we first started learning, we thought that which child played well, we targeted him." Yu Shihui said that we slowly chased, and then played the best in the club, then played the best in the school team, then went to the district team, and now came to the Beijing team, step by step. At first, he did not expect his son to achieve such results, "he gave us a lot of confidence and surprises."
Every progress of Yu Lifan in ice hockey is accompanied by his father.
For Li Fan's future expectations in ice hockey, Yu Shihui feels that it is better to go with the flow, and he hopes that everything his son can do everything and do his best. What achievements you want to achieve in ice hockey are not only achievable by talent and training, but also include various factors of the acquired body, Yu Lifan's current body has not yet begun to develop, and it will be up to him. Yu Shihui does not force his son to take this road, nor does he think that this road is a goal that his son must complete, "it is not the goal of our parents," Yu Shihui said.
Parent concept
There is no absolute right or wrong in any educational philosophy
In Yu Shihui's view, ice hockey has relatively high requirements for comprehensive quality such as technology and body, and if you want to play well, you must spend more energy on this matter. Putting aside the economic cost of ice hockey, the cost of time is a huge expense. In order for Yu Lifan to play hockey, many things in the family need to make concessions. Before my son played ice hockey, my family had to go out on vacation every year, and now I can only go out to travel with my son's game schedule. Previously, on weekends, Yu Shihui and his son went around various museums and exhibition halls in Beijing, and now these times have been washed away. For six years, the family had to accompany Yu Lifan to play on holidays, and ice hockey accounted for a large proportion of their lives.
Since his son began to learn ice hockey, the focus of Yu's family life has also changed.
In the documentary film "Ice Moment", the average audience may feel that Yu Shihui is too strict in the way he educates his son. At the premiere of the movie, Yu Shihui also joked that he was worried about his "human design" before watching the movie. He feels that there is no absolute right or wrong in any kind of educational concept, and the educational philosophy of other families or education experts does not necessarily apply to every family.
In Yu Shihui's view, Yu Lifan's initial ice hockey is in a stage of chasing others, there must be a need for efforts and competition, and in terms of final effect, his own education method is relatively effective. Now as the child grows older, Yu Shihui's education towards him and before will also have some changes. However, sometimes the child may be a little inert, the goal is not so strong, Yu Shihui will urge his son, since it took so much energy, the whole family has made concessions in time, we must do things well, at least to satisfy themselves. He hopes that his son will have some plans for his own learning and training in the future, and can handle some things independently.
Right
Beijing News: Which scene in the documentary is your favorite?
Yu Shihui: I work as a goalkeeper for my son on the ice, and my father and son climb mountains, which I like more. Especially in the climbing section, with what I said in the interview, that is, "looking back is nothing, he has to climb over his father's mountain", I think it can more accurately express our original intention and expectations for Li Fan.
In "Ice Moment", Yu Lifan climbs the mountain with his father.
Yu Lifan: What impressed me the most was the part where my father was guarding the door, although he was not particularly good at guarding and clumsy, but I felt his deep love for me and the hope of making me better.
Beijing News: Since the children were exposed to the sport of ice hockey, what changes have been brought to the whole family?
Yu Shihui: If you look at the level of life, it is true that the whole family life is very focused on ice hockey. On a family level, hockey is one of the main topics in our family, including at the dinner table, where we often discuss ice hockey. In terms of getting along with my child, I also have more time to spend with him. I'm usually busier at work, but after he played hockey, I spent more time with him. For me personally, there may be some growth, and there will be some thinking about how to deal with children in life, because this thing lasts up to six years, and other things may not be so systematic.
Beijing News: In 2022, if you give your child a word, what do you want to say to him the most?
Yu Shihui: Son, when you grow up, you have to know what you want, what your goals are, and you have to work hard to achieve this goal autonomously, which is a very important thing in your future life.
