【Korean system trend 629】Hyundai and Tesla compete for the right to speak in the Charging Pile in the Korean market!

When the new energy vehicle market gradually matures, the competition in the new energy vehicle market will shift from the competition of models to the competition of charging infrastructure. The reason is simple, the first people to buy pure electric vehicles are generally rich people. Most have independent parking spaces and independent charging piles. At that time, the number of pure electric vehicles was not much, so the charging contradiction was not serious.

But with the increasing number of pure electric vehicles, the charging contradiction has become sharp. At present, the construction of charging facilities is mainly completed by three forces.

The first force is the state power, and the state will fund the construction of charging piles, especially in inaccessible places, or in highway service areas, with the purpose of spreading to the whole country.

The second force is a professional charging service provider, they will build charging piles in areas with dense crowds and passenger flows, and charge a certain service fee from the charging fee.

The third force is the car manufacturers, they can design charging piles according to the characteristics of their own models, the charging speed is fast, and rely on it to promote the sales of the model.

Due to the current Korean market, Hyundai Kia Motors has a market share of about 90% and has an absolute right to speak. Therefore, Hyundai Group led the construction of charging piles in South Korea. And its competitor is Tesla.

Hyundai Group's charging stations, called E-pits, are being laid throughout Korea. And Tesla's development speed is also very fast. Tesla increased the number of charging stations in South Korea to 75 as of April 5.

Tesla announced through the KakaoTalk newsletter on the 4th that it has added nine charging station laying plans, including Sejong, Buyeo, Kwanghashi, Banqiao, Changwon, Cheongju, Pohang, Jeonju, and Daegu.

In particular, in POHANG, 12 supercharger chargers were installed. This is the second time since Jeju island that a supercharger charger of more than 10 GB has been installed.

At present, there are 75 Tesla supercharger stations across the country, and it is expected to exceed 100 as soon as possible this year. As of the 5th, Tesla announced that it will build superchargering stations in 46 locations across the country.

Tesla is installing a V3 supercharger with an output of up to 250kW at its new charging station. Taking North America as an example, it is even predicted that by the end of this year, the charging speed of the V3-class supercharger will be increased from 250kW to 324kW.

As a competitor, Hyundai Motor Group has only about 20 E-pit charging stations. At present, Hyundai Is stepping up the construction of charging stations, but the diffusion rate is slower than Tesla.

Hyundai Motor Group announced that it will suspend the operation of all E-pit charging stations nationwide from the 1st to the 10th of this month for system upgrades.

Among the electric vehicle charging stations operated by the car brand, Hyundai Motor Group E-pit is the only charging station that has been out of operation for more than 10 days. This may not only increase the inconvenience of charging electric vehicle customers, but also increase the inconvenience of electric truck drivers to transport goods.
