In 2021, the state updated a national standard, GB 7258--2017 "Motor Vehicle Operation Safety Technical Conditions" No. 2 amendment order, starting from January 1, 2022, the newly produced passenger cars are required to be equipped with EDR (that is, Event Data Recorder, automotive event data recording system).
This EDR is equivalent to the black box of the car.
The data recorded by EDR is mainly divided into two levels: A level and B level data.
Class A data is the most basic data of the car, including the speed, acceleration, braking state, pedal position and other information of the car.
The B-level data contains all the information of the A-class, and there is also information such as steering angle, gear, precise time of the accident, and various states of the airbag, which can more accurately analyze the cause of the accident.
The mandatory installation of EDR from this year only needs to meet the A-level data, and the B-level data will be until 2024.
