Wang Peijing, | slippery academy: Unforgettable those part-time work days

In the early 1980s, in the spring of the second year after I graduated from high school, my uncle wrote a letter asking me to take a week's worth of dry food and take the quilt and their team of stonemasons to work in qianyanghe Village. Most of the stonemasons in the team are people from my uncle's village, there are also a few from Dongyu North Cliff, the older ones are master stonemasons, responsible for important links such as building walls, and I carry and pull stones with a few young people. It was to build a house for a family, and when they did not lift the stones, they would pick up stones to fill the gaps in the stone walls, and although they were very tired at the end of the day, they still had a little excitement in their hearts. Because this is a relatively wealthy village with watered land.

Every day, the host family warms up their own dry food, tube porridge and pickles. Sometimes it is also entertained, and when the foreman works on this day, he will say, "Work today is all sharp, and I will refuel you in the evening." The host family will get more than a dozen dishes, but it is relatively single, such as potato shredded stir-fry is a dish, sliced stir-fry is another dish, cold cucumber with a few pieces of cooked meat slices is also a dish. The host family is also not easy, generally have to prepare several days in advance. Halfway through the drink, a few lovers would suggest guessing matchsticks or grabbing playing cards, or two people freely combining to guess punches and press their fingers. Sometimes a meal will be eaten for several hours, and there is no delay in the evening anyway. A dozen of us lived in two rooms and slept in chase bunks.

After building the house for that family, we shifted our position to Duzhuang. The family's family is better off, the hostess's husband is a worker in the county town, the eldest son is a private teacher in a foreign village, and the family has two thirteen or fourteen-year-old daughters. Occasionally, we were given a dish on the dinner table, and the dishes during the reception were also raised by a notch compared to the Yanghe family, and the wine was changed into bottles of wine (packaged wine). The new house they want to build is at the west end of the power station rolling dam, the task of a few of us young people is to go to the southwest mountain root more than ten miles away from the village to pull stones, to go all the way uphill, pulling an empty car is very difficult, down the hill to two people, one person carrying a pole down to put the car, along the way such a steep slope to have more than a dozen, a little careless, the car can not resist, it will be killed.

I was in a car with a big brother surnamed Yu. He was seven or eight years older than me, had been to the northeast, was tall, had a humble look, and gave me a lot of care on weekdays. I remember that at that time, the countryside was planting sweet potatoes, and there were many people who pulled water and carried water on the road, and twice there was almost an accident. Once was in the mountain root just put the first slope, the front of the car a stone rolled down from the middle of the two handlebars, the same car of the person flashed away, I carried the car alone rushed down, fortunately there is a flat road down the slope, if the slope is connected to the slope, I can not hide under the car. The car stopped, and I collapsed on the ground, in a cold sweat. The man who was driving with him came up and apologized. Another time, it was to pull the stone to the entrance of the primary school in the village, and a large rock in the back rolled down, and as the car lost its balance, I fell to the ground with the handlebars, and the car rushed forward a few meters and stopped, and the large stone that rolled down in front of me was only as far as a matchbox on my heel. We have to run back and forth eight times a day on this one-way slope of more than ten miles. Every afternoon, as soon as we pulled the car out of the village, the footsteps became heavy, and the eyelids did not fight, so we consulted with the two people in the other car, and everyone stopped and rested for a while. We put the car aside, lay down and stretched out in the shade of the trees, and in a few moments we fell asleep. On the last trip every day, the sky is full of stars.

Sometimes I had to walk home to get dry food at night, and at that time I was a little afraid to walk alone at night, and I always gave myself courage on the road. When I got home and knocked on the door, the family was already asleep, and my mother was busy making me noodles to eat. In the morning, I had to go on the road before it was too dark, because I had to rush back before dawn, so it was always my father who carried a dry food bag to send me, and in the pre-dawn darkness, my father walked in front with a dry food bag one foot deep and one foot shallow, and I silently followed behind. After waiting for Zhang Haicun, the sky was a little bright, and I said, Dad, you go back, I dare to go myself. Father always said, go forward again, and I will come back when the day is a little brighter.

One night when I came back from pulling stones, I heard that there was a storyteller in the south of the village, we went after dinner, a man in his forties sang while pulling erhu, he sang about things between young men and women, we all listened to it very much, the tone he pulled and the voice he sang were a little sad, and later I learned that the tune was a Shandong qinshu. It was past twelve o'clock when we left, and we hurried back, thinking that we would have to get up early tomorrow to work, but after lying down, a few of us young people were baking cakes one by one in bed, and we couldn't sleep.

Those years that are a little sour, but have deep memories of youth!
