Today, we will continue to follow Ba Lao and be a principled, strong execution, emotionally stable, and scientifically aware ADHD parent. Love requires wisdom.

Today, let's talk about the 9th and 10th parenting principles of the old: strive for consistency and stop preaching, and take action!
Article 9: Strive for consistency
You must use the same strategy every time you control your child's behavior. This consistency consists of four important aspects:
(1) Consistency over time;
(2) Once you start correcting your child's behavior, hold on and don't give up quickly;
(3) Even if the environment changes, the same reaction method should be adopted;
(4) Make sure that parents are using the same method.
When you reinforce rules, if your response is elusive or capricious, it usually leads to failure.
Don't expect dramatic, immediate results from new management approaches.
For a behavior correction plan, it is necessary to implement it for at least 1 to 2 weeks to determine whether it is effective.
Many parents react very differently to their children's behavior at home than they do in public, which is not okay.
Finally, in addition to the inherent differences in parental styles, both parents should try to maintain a united front.
When I make regulations for my children, consistency is still very difficult to insist on, for example, his usual video game time is exchanged for his usual points, but in the public occasion of the New Year's Festival, many relatives' children play mobile games, and both children and parents have some "default" That this is extra time to play.
In addition, if the parents' requirements are inconsistent, they will also make the children more inclined to seek alliances with the looser party, which will lead to the ultimate failure of knowledge and action.
Article 10: Act without preaching!
Dr. Sam Goldstein, a psychologist who specializes in clinical work on ADHD, advises parents to stop preaching and exert real influence: Act, don't shout!
As mentioned at the beginning of this chapter, your child has no problems with intelligence, no problems with skills, no problems with reasoning, and no problems with information access, so simply teaching children does not change the underlying neurological problems that are responsible for their unconstrained performance.
Compared to other children who do not have ADHD, children with ADHD are much more sensitive to the actual effects and feedback you give and less sensitive to the corresponding preaching.
So, act quickly and frequently so your child can perform better. Chattering will only make the situation worse, not make them obedient.
