Zhongxin Online, February 27 (Zheng Yingying, Miao Xinpei) In the vast space, the only source of energy for spacecraft is the sun.

A month after the launch of the A satellite, the B satellite of the Land Exploration No. 1 Group 01 was launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on the 27th. The solar cell wings of the No. 1 01 group A and B stars have undergone a major change and taken an important step in the localization of China's satellite power supply.

Liu Yonghui, commander of the model of the No. 01 satellite power subsystem of the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the Eighth Academy), introduced that the satellite adopts a three-junction gallium arsenide solar cell with a long life, high reliability and an average photoelectric conversion efficiency of more than 30%. For the most important component of solar cells, germanium substrate, it has been replaced by localization.

The 811 Institute of the Eighth Academy has joined hands with China's leading germanium industry to improve the mechanical properties of germanium substrates.

"With reference to the international test requirements, we conducted a mechanical performance test on the solar cell prepared by the domestic germanium substrate, and the results showed that the mechanical performance index of the domestic germanium substrate was better than the original imported germanium substrate." Wang Xunchun, director of the Physical Power Division of the 811 Institute of the Eighth Academy, said.

The orbital data of the Land Exploration No. 1 Group 01 A star also shows that the solar cell not only performs excellent in electrical performance, but also performs better in mechanical properties, which can meet the requirements of the long life of the satellite in orbit.

The development of land exploration group 1 01 lays the foundation for promoting the localization of solar cells and helps form An independent and controllable solar cell supply chain in China. (End)
