HP 30W Power Adapter Appearance

HP 30W Power Adapter Teardown
After reading the appearance and test of HP's power adapter, let's disassemble it and take a look at the internal scheme and materials.
First, the adapter housing is disassembled along the seam of the housing, which is fixed by ultrasonic welding.
The internal PCBA module is fixed by gluing.
The output cables are connected via plug-in pieces for easy assembly and replacement.
Remove the PCBA module from the housing and fix the sides by glue.
The back of the PCBA module is provided with a heat sink, which is fixed by soldering.
The small board is welded on the side of the PCBA module, and the transformer is welded to the small board connection.
The folding pins are connected by wire welding, and the wire is cold-pressed with terminals, and the jacket is insulated with heat shrink tubing.
The length of the PCBA module measured by vernier calipers is about 44.2mm.
The width of the PCBA module is about 44.6mm.
The thickness of the PCBA module is about 25.6mm.
The front of the PCBA module is at a glance, the upper right corner is welded with a fuse, the common mode inductor, the top middle position is welded with a safety X2 capacitor, and the second common mode inductor is welded in the upper left corner. The high-voltage filter capacitor is welded below the safety X2 capacitor, and the bottom is the transformer and output plate.
The back of the PCBA module corresponds to the position of the primary switch tube and fills a large area.
The back of the PCBA module is welded with a rectifier bridge, a primary main control chip, a primary switch tube and a feedback optocoupler. Slotted between the primary stages and isolated by inserting an insulating board.
The protocol chip, the synchronous rectifier chip and the VBUS switch are soldered on a small board on the side of the transformer.
Through the observation of the PCBA module, it is found that this charger of HP adopts a QR switching power supply design and synchronous rectification. The output voltage is fed back by the protocol chip through the optocoupler. Let's start with the input to understand the information of each device.
The input of the PCBA module is welded with a fuse, a common mode inductor, and a transformer and a high-voltage filter capacitor are welded on the left side.
Side welding safety X2 capacitors and common mode inductors, common mode inductors wound tape insulation.
The input fuse is 2.5A 250V.
The common mode inductor is wound with enameled wire and insulated wire, and the bottom is provided with an insulating bracket.
The safety X2 capacitor is from HJC Huarong and has a specification of 0.47μF.
Another common-mode inductor is wound with tape.

The primary main control chip is silk-screened 6L=36Z and is packaged in SOT23-6.

WT6636F supports USB PD3.0 and PPS, supports line loss compensation, and supports multiple protection functions. Integrated 10-bit ADC for voltage and current detection, built-in 8051 core microcontroller, built-in discharge MOS tube.
The output VBUS switch is from IWC Semiconductor, silk screen 32308C.
