The charging head network got a gallium nitride power adapter solution launched by Gangsheng Electronics, which adopts PFC+LLC+SR high-efficiency architecture, uses NXP digital controller with Innoscience gallium nitride switch tube, and adopts a single-panel design to focus on low cost and ultimate cost performance. The adapter supports 100-240Vac input and output specification of 20V7.5A, which can provide power to the monitor and mini host. The 150W DC GaN power adapter adopts a natural PC plastic shell, and the power cable at the input end is designed to be separated, which is convenient to replace the power cord of different specifications for use to meet the needs of a wider range of regions.

Under simulated ambient temperatures of 25°C and 40°C, the temperature of the device and the enclosure of the adapter solution was tested using a contact thermometer under the test conditions of 90Vac input and 20V7.5A full-load output, and the temperature data of 2 hours of operation was recorded.
The temperature plot shows that the temperature rises slowly and tends to be stable.

Analysis of Gangsheng 150W gallium nitride power adapter scheme
After having a basic understanding of the appearance of the gallium nitride power adapter scheme of Gangsheng Electronics, the following is to disassemble the shell and analyze the internal scheme and materials.
First of all, the adapter shell is disassembled, and the internal PCBA module is wrapped with aluminum sheets for heat dissipation.
The AC input socket is connected by wire soldering.

The primary main control chip of the power adapter adopts NXP TEA2016AAT, one chip has a built-in LLC controller and a PFC controller, built-in digital architecture control, simplifies the design while reducing the number of peripheral components, and the chip has multiple built-in perfect protection functions, and the integration is very high.
The PFC switch is a 700V reinforced GaN switch with a 190mΩ conduction resistance and a TO252 package from Innoscience, model INN700TK190B.
PFC boost inductors are tightly wound and insulated with adhesive tape.
The PFC rectifier model ES5J is an ultra-fast recovery diode with a specification of 5A600V.
The LLC switch from Innoscience, model INN700TK350B, is a 700V reinforced GaN switch with 350mΩ conduction resistance in a TO252 package.
The other LLC switch tube is of the same model.

The optocoupler is from CT Micro, model CT1019, which is used for output voltage feedback and protection functions, respectively.
The synchronous rectifier controller from NXP, model TEA2095, is a dual synchronous rectifier controller with two built-in drivers, which can drive two synchronous rectifier tubes at the same time, and supports independent operation, suitable for LLC resonant power supply.
The synchronous rectifier is from MPSEN, model SLD80N06G, withstand voltage 60V, conduction resistance 6.5mΩ, and adopts D-PAK package.
The other synchronous rectifier tube is of the same model.

Through analysis, the charging head network found that the PCBA module inside the Gangsheng electronic adapter is wrapped with an aluminum alloy heat sink, and the interior is equipped with a thermal pad and thermal conductive glue to strengthen heat dissipation. The internal power solution of the adapter is from NXP, using a TEA2016AAT PFC+LLC 2-in-1 controller, and both PFC and LLC switches use Innoscience GaN switches.
The synchronous rectifier controller adopts TEA2095 and uses a Mepusen rectifier tube. Thanks to the highly integrated power solution and the use of GaN devices, efficiency is significantly improved, thermal design is simplified, and requirements can be met with a single-sided PCB, reducing overall cost.
