Preface
Unlike conventional PWM converters, LLC is a resonant circuit that controls the switching frequency to achieve a constant output voltage. Its advantages are: to achieve the zero voltage turn-on of the two main MOS switches on the primary side and the zero-current shutdown of the secondary rectifier diode, through the soft switching technology, the switching loss of the power supply can be reduced, and the efficiency and power density of the power converter can be improved.
The resonant operation of the LLC architecture enables soft switching over the full load range, making it ideal for high-frequency and high-power-density designs for fixed voltage outputs with better EMI characteristics. Especially in the application of high-power power products, the LLC architecture outputs a fixed voltage + secondary step-down, which has the characteristics of high efficiency and high power.

MPS HR1001B
The MPS HR1001B is an LLC controller with enhanced noise immunity and adaptive dead-time adjustment. The chip features a wide range of protection features, including two levels of overcurrent protection with external lockout shutdown, auto-recovery, under-voltage protection/turn-on, capacitive mode protection, and over-temperature protection, which minimize the use of external components and improve the design safety of the converter in a QFN-10 package.

Summary of the charging head network
The LLC architecture enables soft switching over the full load range through resonant operation, making it ideal for high frequency and high power density designs. Compared to traditional flyback circuits, the LLC architecture has better EMI characteristics, higher efficiency and power density, and stability of the output voltage.
At present, the traditional flyback circuit, the flyback circuit has the problem of low efficiency under high loads, the flyback circuit is close to its limit at 250W, and 250W is only the starting power of the LLC converter, which can be used in applications up to several kW. In addition, due to the operating principle of flyback circuits, their design and debugging can be relatively complex, requiring more external components to achieve the necessary protection and control functions.
