BYD chose Baidu as its intelligent driving supplier: the cooperative model is about to be mass-produced

BYD's last short board may be filled.

According to the news of the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily on February 25, BYD has selected Baidu as its intelligent driving supplier, and Baidu provides BYD with ANP intelligent driving products and man-machine co-driving maps.

It is understood that the Baidu intelligent driving team has entered the field in advance to cooperate with BYD for development, and will soon achieve mass production of cooperative models.

Baidu Apollo ANP solution is equipped with 12 cameras, 5 millimeter wave radar, 12 ultrasonic radar, of which the amount of visual perception data per second is more than 1 GIG, more than 30 deep learning models participate in the operation, and all the operations are compressed on 1 GPU.

AnP's complete set of standard solutions is not fixed, and can be appropriately reduced according to the needs of cooperative car companies, which is more in line with the cost control requirements of OEMs for mass production vehicles.

The cooperation between BYD and Baidu can be traced back to 2018, when ATD disclosed the latest progress of cooperation between BYD and Baidu at the BYD Global Developer Conference that year, and said that the two sides planned to achieve mass production of self-driving cars within three years.

Counting the days, it coincides with the latest exposed news content, which also strongly corroborates the authenticity of BYD's news of choosing Baidu as its intelligent driving supplier.

It is worth mentioning that in April 2018, at Baidu's "Apollo Meetup - Apollo 2.5 Open Technology Conference", BYD officially joined the Apollo Open Platform and became the 100th ecological partner, and then at the Baidu AI Developer Conference in July, Baidu announced that it would jointly build an open vehicle certification platform with BYD.

Not only that, Baidu President Zhang Yaqin also announced that Apollo will join BYD's open ecosystem.

In this way, the cooperation between the two sides has indeed a long history and is very deep, and reaching further consensus this time is of great benefit to both sides.
