This work breaks the conventional linear narrative method on the stage, adopts the narrative structure of time and space interlacing, finds inspiration from classical Chinese literature, uses spatial relationships rather than story contradictions to structure the whole play, takes dance as the vocabulary, and creates a realm of "silence is better than sound" with poetic expression.
The time of the plot is set to the time when "A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains" is about to be exhibited, and it is also the time when the young painter Xi Meng, a thousand years ago, is about to finish his manuscript.
The concentric circle stage breaks through the barriers of time and space, and skillfully presents the process of "unfolding" traditional Chinese paintings. The heavens and the earth in the painting are boundless, the landscape is boundless, and everything is quietly transformed between the clouds and the flowing water.
