In 1735, the Qianlong Emperor promulgated a new edict, the content of which, in addition to praising the achievements made in the collation and compilation of documents in the current dynasty, was also formally decided that the state treasury would allocate funds to compile and sort out all the legal books circulating, which was led by Qianlong and presided over by Ji Xiaolan.
This is what we now know as the four libraries of the Complete Book. A total of 4,100 people participated in the compilation of the Siku Quanshu, creating the largest number of books compiled in ancient and modern times. It was also the event that the Qianlong Emperor had the deepest cultural influence.
It can be seen that the Qianlong Emperor attached great importance to the influence of other cultural fields. In addition, because the Qianlong Emperor attached great importance to his own cultural status, he even had a special habit of stamping his own seal on these rare cultural relics and works, and he loved to collect books and famous works all his life. In his lifetime, he collected more than 10,000 masterpieces, and many of the collections were stamped by him. On the one hand, it can be proved that the works after being stamped by him are authentic, and on the other hand, it is in this way that the high level of appreciation of his cultural relics is reflected. Some works were even mistaken for the works of the Qianlong Emperor in later generations.
