Mercedes-Benz after announcing the full electrification, the action is very rapid, the second half of last year only the world's first EQE, has appeared in the 353rd batch of "Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Product Announcements", if there is no accident will be officially unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show, the first half of the year on the market sales.

At present, the EQ family models sold by Mercedes-Benz in China include domestic EQA, EQB, EQC and imported EQS, but the first three are actually models based on the hybrid platform of oil and electricity, so this EQE will be the first domestic model of Mercedes-Benz based on the exclusive pure electric platform of the new EVA (Electric Vehicle Architecture).
Starting from EQS, Mercedes-Benz has reorganized the naming rules of new energy vehicles, EQS corresponds to the S class of the fuel vehicle era, so EQE is naturally corresponding to the E class sedan.
The EQE is 4969/1906/1509mm in size and has a wheelbase of 3120mm, which is the same as the E-Class on the fuel vehicle and the S-Class, which is actually one lap smaller than the EQS.
Not only in terms of size, the design of the EQE is also in line with the EQS, including the hidden door handle, but the small triangle window at the end of the A-pillar will be distinguished by the "EQE" logo.
However, if you are familiar with the design methods of Mercedes-Benz, you will notice that designers will also make a fuss about the design details of the headlights, EQS headlights have three light points, and EQE is two. EQC should be a point.
Under the new naming system, the current Beijing Benz GLC-based EQC will be renamed the EQC SUV, but that will be as early as 2025, because the current EQC and EQS EVA platforms are exclusive to large cars, and relatively small models such as the EQC will be based on the MMA architecture that is still under development.
In terms of power, the new car currently has only one EQE 350 series, which will follow the global model, equipped with a 215kw electric motor for rear-wheel drive, equipped with a 90.6kwh battery pack, and a cruising range of 660km under WLTP conditions. In the domestic model, the drive motor is produced by Valeo Siemens eAutomotive, not ZF, which is currently a domestic EQC, I wonder if this will make consumers more confident?
The interior does not need to be declared in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, so there is no 100% conclusive information at present, but Mercedes-Benz has no reason and no need to design another set of interiors for domestic models, so it is basically the same as the overseas version.
This interior is roughly the same as EQS, using an oversized glass to cover the entire central control area, which is actually three large LCD screens, with the MBUX system behind it.
In short, the EQE is a "small EQS", and there is also a similar design style to the flagship model EQS, almost the same high-tech human-computer interaction system, and it is estimated that it will also be equipped with an active safety system with L4 auxiliary driving capabilities.
After domestic production, the price of EQE is expected to be controlled at 500,000-700,000 yuan, which is a little more expensive than the E-class sedan. The point is that BMW and Audi are moving too slowly, and there is no car launched based on a pure electric dedicated platform, let alone domestically.
In addition, the EQE SUV, that is, the SUV model benchmarked with the GLE, has also been photographed on the road, and it is likely to follow the EQE to achieve domestic production within this year.
More information about the Mercedes-Benz EQE will be announced during the Beijing Auto Show in April, if you are interested in this car, please pay attention to the tram man EVman, let's pay attention to the performance of big brother in the era of fuel vehicles in the new energy era.
