Ford's ambitious electrification plans are not limited to Ford's core brands. The luxury brand line Lincoln will also receive a lot of attention.
According to Reuters, citing three people familiar with the matter, the automaker is preparing to launch at least five new battery-powered Lincoln SUVs by 2026. Sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the electric SUV would replace or complement Lincoln Sea adventurers, navigators, aviators and navigators. If the information is accurate, that means Lincoln will accelerate its electric vehicle strategy, as the brand announced plans to launch four electric vehicles by 2030 last year, starting with the first one of the year.

Citing plans the company shares with suppliers, two sources said the first Lincoln electric car to arrive would be a large crossover the size of a flyer. It will be produced at Ford's plant in Oakville, Ontario, in late 2024 or early 2025 as part of the plant's $1.5 billion transition from internal combustion engine cars to battery electric vehicles.
According to internal planning documents, the plant could produce several more Lincoln crossovers in 2025-2026, including potential alternatives to small pirates and medium-sized navigators, the sources said. Ford has yet to finalize production plans for these models.

Several smaller Lincoln electric vehicles will be based on improved versions of the Mustang Mach-E electric platform. Finally, a larger Lincoln SUV will be an electric alternative to the Navigator, which is expected to come into production in 2026. Sources said the model will share a new dedicated EV truck platform with the next-generation Ford F-150 Lightning.
Lincoln brand electrification is a key element of Ford's plan to invest $30 billion in electric vehicles and batteries by 2030. The automaker recently said its global annual production capacity will reach at least 600,000 electric vehicles in 24 months, when its goal is to "become the second largest electric vehicle manufacturer in North America after Tesla."
