Ge Junbo first proposed quantitative indicators for the diagnosis of vulnerable plaques in intravascular ultrasound, which has become an important marker for the identification of the nature of atherosclerotic plaques; for the first time, the "half-moon phenomenon" and "fingertip phenomenon" of myocardial bridge-specific ultrasound diagnostic indicators were discovered, which increased the detection rate of myocardial bridge from 0.5∼2.5% of coronary angiography to more than 95%, and won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2006. The team developed the world's first biodegradable coating new coronary stent, which significantly reduced the incidence of thrombosis in traditional stents, and the new stent has been applied in more than 900 medical institutions across the country and exported to more than ten countries, becoming a successful case of China's domestic innovation going global. The first fully degradable coronary stent "Xinsorb" in mainland China has been successfully developed, which is the strongest sound in the world for the new stent with independent intellectual property rights in mainland China.

During the epidemic prevention and control period, Ge Junbo took the lead and organized more than 130 cardiologists in Zhongshan Hospital to consult remotely for free to provide convenience for patient diagnosis and treatment.
When teaching students, Ge Junbo often emphasizes talking and communicating with patients' families, starting from the patient's point of view, according to the patient's own situation and the condition of the diseased blood vessels, to choose the most beneficial treatment plan and surgical instruments for the patient.

During the Chinese New Year' Festival, Ge Junbo will visit the students and medical staff on duty in the ward and laboratory, and invite students to their homes for dinner on the first day of the Chinese New Year.

He often admonished his students not to be too utilitarian. He also repeatedly told students that scientific research must seek truth from facts and not sacrifice the rigor and authenticity of scientific research because of the so-called "high impact factor". In order to actively promote the construction of the national medical talent team, Ge Junbo, as the editor-in-chief, organized and led many domestic medical experts, including team members, to compile the eighth and ninth editions of the "Internal Medicine" textbook. As teachers, all members of the team have rich experience in teaching and management, and teach an average of 1-2 courses per person per year for undergraduate and graduate students.
