Located in the northeast of the old town of Shiyan City, the Si River is one of the main rivers in the urban area and a tributary of the southern bank of the upper reaches of the Han River.

The Si River is a mountain-stream changliu river, originating from Liushuya in the northeast foothills of Fuquan Mountain at the junction of Dachuan Town and FangXian in the south of the old town of Shiyan City, and flows north to Duanjiagou and becomes the boundary river of Yunyang District and Danjiangkou City. The total length of the river is nearly 100 kilometers, the width of the river is 20-300 meters, and the basin area is 3283 square kilometers. The river is quite tortuous and the water flow is more rapid.

The Si River is named because the upper reaches are composed of four small rivers, Majia River, Maota River, Zhoujia River and Shagou River.
