Qingwei | the poplar forest

Qingwei | the poplar forest

The school is located in the countryside, facing a poplar forest in front of the school. When I first came to school, the poplar tree had just been loaded, and the weak saplings were as tall as mature corn trees, so they were very inconspicuous. Now almost twenty years have passed, and those humble little trees have long since grown into towering trees, covering the sky and the sun. As soon as the wind blew, it made a rattling sound, standing on the campus fifty meters away, listening to it really, like the sound of nature.

Every day when I go in and out of the school, I will take a picture with this poplar forest, and I like this poplar forest for a long time. Sometimes I arrive at school early in the morning, so I ask three or five colleagues to go around the forest and breathe in the fresh air in the forest. The forest is not too big, there are more than a hundred trees, each one is very straight, the thickness is just one person hugging, about two or three feet high. Standing under the tree and looking up, the straight trunk of the tree plunges straight into the sky and soars into the blue sky, which is very spectacular. Especially in the hot summer, when you are sweating, it is really pleasant to walk into this wood by chance and enjoy the coolness under the shade of the tree.

Although poplar trees are not valuable trees, they are particularly favored by people because of their fast-growing characteristics. The mighty shore of poplar trees can be seen everywhere in the north of China. Although poplar trees are not a rich family, their characteristics of regardless of terrain and tenacious growth are widely welcomed by people. In the northern countryside, after the front house, the people like to plant a few poplar trees, one to shade the sun, two to three or five years later can become timber, bringing a little income to the family. Poplar and willow are the most common tree species in China, and the first impression of poplar trees is that they are tall and tall, masculine, like the image of a big husband; while the willow tree is a woman with delicate branches, feminine and moving, full of feminine beauty, like a weak woman.

Poplars and willows, one yang and one yin, stand side by side, forming a picture of absolute harmony between the natural and biological worlds. Compared with the willow tree, the poplar tree has more vigorous vitality, a wider range of life, and appears more rough and heroic; the willow tree prefers to live by the river and lake, is closer to the water, and its posture is more shy and feminine, so it is more appropriate to use the metaphor of the big husband and the weak woman to compare these two tree species. The poplar tree wins with momentum, and the willow tree moves with its posture. In the pen of chinese literati, Yang Liu is not separated from the family, and the literati who are well versed in the way of yin and yang have long been aware of this yin and yang characteristics of Yang and Liu, so the image of Yang Liu repeatedly appears in classical Chinese poetry and songs, and is liked by the Chinese people throughout the ages.

In traditional Chinese culture, magpie Dengmei is a cultural image that the literati and inkers like. I have never seen this image in reality, but only in the poetry and paintings of the literati. But in reality, what is seen more is the scene of magpies ascending to Yang. Every day when I came to the gate of the school and looked at the poplar forest, I saw dozens of magpie nests of different sizes hanging in the air from the tall poplar trees. Early magpies fly around the nest, making crisp calls from time to time. People praise the magpie as a dexterous builder, and praise how strong its nest is built, how it can shield it from the wind and rain, and I am not surprised by this, thinking that this is just the instinct of animals. I admire the industriousness and perseverance of magpies in nesting. Every day, magpies are seen looking for small branches on the lawn of the campus. Flower magpies jump around on the grass, see the right branches, hold them in their mouths, and take off at once, year after year, every day, over and over again, tirelessly, and even humans with super willpower sometimes find it difficult to persevere and do this. The magpie fully proves the profound truth of the phrase "do it yourself, have enough food and clothing" with super willpower. Nests of different sizes are the fruits of the magpies' hard work, hanging on the high treetops, telling people passing by that happiness is the truth that happiness is the simplest way out of the road.

The old saying "birds choose good trees and perch", although the poplar tree is not a precious tree species, it does not choose the growth characteristics of the terrain, so that it is very grounded, and can get the most powerful life force from Mother Earth, making it grow extra tall and tall, thus becoming the first choice for magpies to nest. A forest, a group of magpies, a world, a society, thus forming a beautiful landscape outside the campus, warming the spiritual eyes and happy hearts of teachers and students.

In the days of daily ups and downs, you will see this poplar forest, which stands out above the fertile field and is particularly conspicuous. The birds in the trees also live a life of day and night, and when you see their busy figures flying around, you will always think of a song in your heart:

When I was a kid I thought you were beautiful

Lead a flock of birds

Fly

When I was a kid I thought you were amazing

Saying the last sentence is also earth-shattering

When I grow up, I will be you

I just learned about that classroom

What is unleashed is hope

It's always you who keeps the nest

Yeah, school isn't a bird's nest! In the daily usher-in and delivery, teachers are like a kind, respectable and lovely nest keeper, sticking to the post of teaching and educating people, using youth and waiting, building a nest of love, caring for a lovely student, and inserting ideal wings for them, so that they can spread their wings towards a higher goal in life. However, as a nest keeper, he did not change his original intention and silently stuck to his post until the moment of retirement.
