A peculiarity of Severodvinsk is its location on the winding coast of the White Sea, partly on the delta of the Severodvina River. In this regard, there are many bays, many rivers, passages, lakes and islands within the city.

The Sevmash and Zvyozdochka factories are located next to the Nikolsky Port in North Dvina. Sevmash is the industrial flagship of the city and the entire urban agglomeration, and its docks are loaded with defense orders for years to come. However, we did not happen to see a submarine because we were not allowed to enter the student dormitory, and they could be seen from the upper floors.

In the image of Severodvinsk, a kind of "asceticism" can be felt, which is related to the long-term closure of the city. Although it has been open for thirty years, the way of life of citizens has not changed as a result. The enterprises of the military-industrial complex are still functioning, and secondary vocational schools, military academies and universities mainly train talents for these enterprises. Severodvinsk tries to obscure the associations associated with ZATO and the military-industrial complex, although not very clearly. For example, the tourism potential here is being identified and slowly realized. The city is included in the brand route "Arkhangelsk: the Arctic starts here".
The lack of local flora is reflected in the planting of wild roses in the central square, while in the more southern regions of Russia there are no such plants, where roses and other ornamental shrubs are preferred.

In Primorsky Krai Park, the cold wind blowing from the White Sea oppresses the dwarf trees. The larger birch, larch, spruce and poplar trees grow in squares and courtyards far from the coast, and we didn't expect to encounter the latter here.

Despite the harsh climate (pigeons warm up from the cold near the Eternal Fire), in the summer the sea is relatively suitable for swimming. There is a sandy beach on Agri Island, and not only local residents come to relax, but also residents of Arkhangelsk.

Since Severodvinsk was founded and formed during the Soviet period, it is characterized by a correct rectangular layout of wide streets. The central building does not exceed 5-6 floors

Occasionally, modern private low-rise buildings and multi-storey apartment buildings appear. In the early 1990s in Severodvinsk, there were a quarter of the inhabitants, and now its population has shrunk to 18.1 million people.

Severodvinsk has several landscape spaces. These are the Alexander Zryacheva embankment, the waterfront park, the central square and the adjoining Veterans Square. Beautiful views of the White Sea from the embankment and beach.
For Severodvinsk, dilapidated houses and garden beautification issues are equally pressing. But here, unlike Arkhangelsk, we also came across solid wooden houses, repaired from the outside with siding.
