Invite you to be a jury member in deciding the case:

What would you tell about a "rape" case in the first class cabin of an airplane?

On a United Airlines flight from New Jersey to London on Jan. 30, a 40-year-old British female passenger reported to the crew that a 40-year-old British man had forced her to have sex in first class while the other passengers were sleeping.

The female passenger who reported the crime said she did not know the male passenger. However, witnesses later testified that the two people involved had drunk together in the waiting room before boarding the plane.

The police received the report and took the man away at the airport for investigation on suspicion of rape, and later released the man, but the investigation continued.

Suppose the man and woman involved did have sex in first class, and you and I were members of the jury in the case, how would I judge whether the man was convicted of rape?

If the clothes worn by the women involved in the case are not obviously torn, and more importantly, there are no traces of hand cards and pressures on the body, I will judge that the men involved in the case are not convicted.

The reasons are:

The first-class warehouse of the aircraft is not a completely confined space, if it is forced to have a relationship against the woman's will, as long as the woman speaks out for help, the man will not be able to succeed.

In addition, the woman involved in the case stated that she did not know the man when she reported the case, but there were witnesses afterwards who proved that the two had drunk together at the airport before boarding the plane. The woman's integrity is questionable.

That is to say, this case cannot rule out the possibility that the woman will repent and report to the police for other reasons after the two parties have a voluntary relationship.

If you were also a jury member, how would you judge?
