I want to look at my husband's pictures in my lifetime. This was the wish that a female soldier in the War of Resistance most longed to fulfill, and when she was interviewed and asked what her wish was, she only made one request.

Looking at the look of expectation of the old man, the staff promised on the spot that you can rest assured that we will help you achieve your wishes as much as possible.

When asked about her wishes, a 109-year-old female soldier in hunan province, wanted to see her husband's photo in her lifetime

This old man, who longs to meet her husband again, is called Zhou Xiulian, and her home is in the Changsha area of Hunan Province, the location is relatively remote, and it is difficult for people who are not familiar with the road conditions to find her home.

In the interview, the old man is 109 years old, but her mental state is very good, and she can still talk and laugh with everyone.

When she mentioned the past, the old man's look was somewhat complicated, and for her, the experience of the war period was indeed not beautiful. She is also a child of a large family, and she was sent to a private school by her father from an early age.

Later, Zhou Xiulian married Yang Ping of the same village, who was a huangpu sixth-term student and served as a battalion commander under Du Yuming. Zhou Xiulian was reluctant to be separated from her husband and insisted on going out with the army.

In 1933, Yang Ping participated in several major battles, and because of his excellent performance, he was promoted to major. Remembering her husband's spirited appearance at that time, Zhou Xiulian, who was already hundreds of years old, would still show some happy smiles.

In fact, the days during the war were particularly bitter, and the road of their actions was always potholed, and they would fall if they were not careful.

Zhou Xiulian and other female dependents, when advancing with the army, most of them wore hats and tried to cover their faces as much as possible, so as not to prevent the Japanese army from discovering that they were women.

Every time the enemy's plane flew overhead, Zhou Xiulian's heart was seven up and eight down, always worried that the enemy's shells would fall to her side.

Later, the war was tight, and Yang Ping was promoted to deputy regimental commander of the colonel because of his meritorious service in the War of Resistance. Zhou Xiulian was also assigned to the garment factory, because she had a little education level, she was also responsible for the management of the factory.

Zhou Xiulian said that it was management, in fact, she also had to work non-stop, often busy until three or four o'clock in the morning, in order to barely stop and rest. Because she was too tired, Zhou Xiulian's waist was seriously damaged, and she was often hospitalized for low back pain in her later years.

In 1942, Yang Ping went to Yunnan to negotiate with the Japanese army, and he led his soldiers to constantly detour in Yunlong and Tengchong, pinning down a large number of enemy troops.

In 1943, Yang Ping died heroically in the jungle on the Border between China and Burma because of the tragic situation. Zhou Xiulian cried into tears after learning the bad news, because she did not have the status of a military family, she was sent back to her hometown.

In 1944, Zhou's hometown was attacked, and a fire burned her home to rubble, leaving her without leaving a single picture of her husband. Zhou Xiulian looked at the dilapidated hometown, hugged a few frightened children, and cried.

But crying didn't solve the problem, life had to go on, and she was afraid that the Japanese army would come to sweep up again, and fled to other places with a few young children.

After the end of the War of Resistance, Zhou Xiulian met Yang Ping's old boss Qiu Qingquan and received 100 yuan of relief money from him.

After several tosses and turns, Zhou Xiulian, who has been displaced for many years, once again returned to her hometown, remarried to Yang Ping's cousin, and lived a relatively peaceful life.

Because she had been with the army before, Zhou Xiulian maintained the style of a soldier all year round, and her clothes and quilts were always folded very neatly.

After her identity was exposed, Zhou Xiulian, a hundred-year-old veteran of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, attracted the attention of many people. When the volunteers came to her house to care, they were moved to tears when they heard that she only wanted to see her husband's photos.

With the help of volunteers and caring people, a photo of Yang Ping when he was young was sent to Zhou Xiulian. After 73 years, when she saw her husband again, she recognized it at a glance.

The Yang Ping in the photo is still the anti-war warrior with the iron bone, but Zhou Xiulian has become an old man with a wrinkled face, and this contrast is really regrettable.
