The reason why Audi discontinued the two entry-level models is that in the context of the current "lack of cores" and rising parts costs, the sales of the two entry-level models can no longer bring large profits to the company, and Audi decided to focus on high-end models and electric models with higher profits.
In fact, the news of the discontinuation of the Audi A1 has been confirmed as early as last year. Audi has announced an electrification transformation plan for the next 15 years, but there is no Audi A1 related electric vehicle model planning, and CEO Dusman also confirmed the news.
The Audi A1 was first born in 2010 and completed in 2018. The Audi A1 has been imported in China before, but it has not been sold in China after the replacement.
The discontinuation of the Audi Q2 is still relatively surprising, the new car was born in 2016, and there is only one generation of models launched so far, or a very young car series.
The Q2L currently on sale in China is based on the overseas version of Q2, but it is not clear whether the suspension of Q2 will affect the domestic market, nor does it rule out that in the future, China will become the only New Year to sell Q2 derivative car series, and Q2L will become a global special model.
Of course, the discontinuation of the above two models does not mean that Audi will completely abandon the market for small cars or entry-level models, which may no longer use fuel power in the future, or derive other pure electric models.
It is worth mentioning that the Audi A1 is the lowest model in the domestic new car guidance price before, and it is also the most partial Audi model, with a starting price of 189,800 yuan for the new car. Q2L is currently the cheapest SUV model under Audi, with a starting price of only 228,800 yuan, and the terminal market also has tens of thousands of yuan of concessions, and the price of bare cars is less than 200,000 yuan.
