original:

It is difficult to talk to each other, the children see, and the door is confused. Zi Yue: "Instead of advancing, not retreating from it, why not?" Man cleans himself and advances, and instead of being pure, he does not protect his past. ”

Translation:

It was difficult for the people in this place to talk, and a boy was received by Confucius, and the disciples were confused. Confucius said, "We approve of his progress and do not approve of his regression, so why should we go too far?" When others have cleaned themselves, they should approve of his cleanliness, and not die remembering his past. ”
