The residence in the center of Munich, Germany ๐ฉ๐ช, is the former royal palace of the monarch of Wittelsbach in Bavaria. Residenz, Germany's largest urban palace, is now open to visitors and its architecture, room decoration and displays come from the former Royal Collection. The complex consists of 10 courtyards and 130 rooms. The Munich Residence has been open to the public as a museum since 1920 and today is one of the most important palace museums in Europe.
Built between 1568 and 1571 by Wilhelm Egkl and Jacobo Strada for the antique collection of Duke Albert V (1550โ1579), the Antiquarium is the largest Renaissance hall in the northern Alps.
