BYD's January sales were released: 93,168 new energy vehicles were sold

Today, China's new energy vehicle leader BYD also announced the January 2022 production and sales express.

According to the January production and sales express data released by BYD, BYD produced a total of 94,101 units in a single month, an increase of 97.62% year-on-year; and the total sales volume was 95,422 units, an increase of 125.05% year-on-year. Among them, the production of new energy vehicles was 91,736 units, an increase of 309.66% year-on-year, and sales were 93,168 units, an increase of 361.73% year-on-year.

Specifically, BYD's full line of passenger cars sold 95,180 units in January, an increase of 126.1% year-on-year. Among them, the sales of new energy passenger cars were 92,926 units, an increase of 367.6% year-on-year.

Sales of EV models and DM models reached 46,386 units and 46,540 units, respectively. Han DM sales in January was 12,789 units, achieving sales of more than 10,000 units for five consecutive months; Tang family sales in January were 9,060 vehicles, of which the new generation of Tang DM sales reached 8847, an increase of 481.3% year-on-year; Song family sales in January were 22,446 vehicles, mainly due to the stability of DM-i model production capacity, of which, Song DM achieved sales of 16,411 units, up 2719.8% year-on-year; driven by Qin PLUS DM-i and Qin PLUS EVs, The Qin family sold 26,542 vehicles in January, of which Qin PLUS DM-i and Qin PLUS EV sold 18,450 and 7,086 vehicles respectively; the Yuan family sold 8,596 units in January; the e-series sold 4,364 units in January; and as the first mass-produced model of the e-platform 3.0, the Dolphin 1 sold 10,602 units. From this data, it is not difficult to find that BYD Qin, Song and Han perform more brightly.

As the leader of domestic new energy vehicles, BYD is speeding up the speed to improve its product matrix, and recently the Shenzhen-Shantou Special Cooperation Zone Management Committee signed a cooperation agreement with BYD Automobile Industry Co., Ltd., BYD will invest an additional 20 billion yuan for the construction of the second phase of the Shenzhen-Shantou BYD Automobile Industrial Park. After the completion of the project, the production capacity of core components supporting 600,000 new energy vehicles will be formed.

In terms of products, according to BYD's previous product planning, in 2022, BYD will implement the "Dynasty Family" + "Overseas Network" dual-car tactics, in addition to one of the main brands of the Dynasty series of yuan PLUS, Han DM-i, Song MAX DM-i, the new Tang EV, BYD will also launch the Ocean series, including destroyer 05, seal, sea lion and seagull four new cars, of course, does not rule out the arrival of other new cars. It is understood that the Seagull will be a small car, positioned lower than the Dolphin but slightly higher than the Wuling Hongguang MINI EV, or an entry-level model for the Ocean series products; seals benchmark Tesla Model 3, or will be a medium-sized sedan; Sea Lion is positioned in a medium and large SUV, benchmarking Tesla Model Y. Seals and sea lions may be available in the second and fourth quarters of this year. With the emergence of these models, IT will further improve BYD's layout in the 100,000-200,000 market, and will also form a differentiated development with the current Dynasty series models. In addition, BYD's warship series models will focus on DM-i plug-in hybrid power, of which the warship series, the sedan series is named after the destroyer, the SUV series is named after the cruiser, and the MPV series is named after the landing ship.

In terms of product sales, BYD previously said that the sales target of new energy vehicles in 2022 or between 1.1 million and 1.2 million, pure electric vehicle sales and plug-and-mix model sales account for half, that is, pure electric vehicle sales are set at 600,000, while plug-in and mixed models are set at 500,000-600,000.

Overall, BYD's sales in January are generally bright, especially in the sales of new energy vehicles showing a growth momentum, as to whether BYD can bring new breakthroughs in February, we wait and see.
