In October 1997, the Xinjiang Construction Corps was building a road near the Zhaosu Border Defense Station, and accidentally dug up an ancient tomb on a two-meter-high mound that still does not know who the owner of the tomb is!

The tomb unearthed gold ruby-encrusted masks, gold cups, gold pots, etc., the degree of luxury is staggering!

When the bulldozer's large iron arm swung towards the mound, which was more than two meters above the surface, what came out made the scene chaotic!

I saw that in the dirt covered with wood chips, there were many golden sparkling utensils! There are also many huge rubies on the utensils!

The weather was nice that day, and the artifacts glowed dazzlingly in the sun.

Apparently, the excavator dug up the tomb buried in the mound, and dug up the coffin that had decayed and floppy, revealing the burial goods inside...

"There are tombs! And a lot of gold! And gems! I don't know who shouted, and the crowd that was a little stunned at the scene "woke up..."

Immediately after, a rush began. People couldn't care about anything else, they rushed forward to grab it, and within a few minutes, the ancient tomb was destroyed, and the golden and shining burial items were also missing...

Due to the remote location of the robbery incident, when the Ili Prefecture Cultural Administration Bureau received the news and rushed over, it had already missed the golden time for recovery. Next, it took four years of overt inspection and covert visits to finally recover 70 of the cultural relics.

When they saw the first sight of these seized artifacts, the experts were shocked! They had never seen such a luxurious and beautiful gold object...

Among them, a gold mask similar in size to a real face (Figure 1) is the most unique. It is 17 cm high, 16.5 cm wide and weighs 245.5 g, all made with a hammer weed.

Two large, round rubies are set into masked eyes, eyebrows and upper lip hair are composed of small rectangular rubies, along the jaw and cheeks, a total of 39 heart-shaped rubies...

Such a delicate gold mask should be draped over the face of the tomb owner when buried, which is both beautiful and highlights its status.

Experts deduce that this golden mask is likely a "realistic creation" based on the appearance of the tomb owner before his death, and he should be a very majestic samurai!

Next, there is a golden cup with a red agate and a tiger handle (picture 2) which is also quite shocking! The height of the golden cup reaches 14.7 cm and weighs about 489 grams.

The inner and outer surfaces of the gold cup are pressed out with a diamond-shaped check, and a red agate is inlaid in each diamond lattice on the outer surface. The handle of the cup is a strong, slender waist, upright ears of the golden tiger, the bottom foot is eight petals of the hammer pattern.

In addition, there are gold jars with rubies and gold lids, gold rings with rubies, gold sheaths with rubies, and silver bottles with one ear in wrong gold...

Looking at these dazzling gold objects, archaeologists marvel at the unique charm they exude time and time again!

In the ancient tombs in the Central Plains, of course, there are also cultural relics such as gold artifacts, but, possibly due to cultural differences, the number of gold artifacts unearthed in a single tomb in the Central Plains is usually not much.

It is even rarer to set large gems, agates, etc. on gold without stinginess like this. Of course, such artifacts are characterized by a strong exotic style.

It is said that at that time, someone also took a cultural relic "like a short cane with gems at the handle" from the tomb, and experts speculated that it was most likely a "scepter" representing the identity of the owner of the tomb, but unfortunately because of the lack of investigation clues, no recovery clues were found...

The most regrettable thing is that the ancient tomb has been destroyed, the original excavation location of the cultural relics is gone, and even the bones of the owner of the tomb have not been found!

This also brings an awkward situation - the owner of the "Boma Tomb" has become an unsolved mystery.

The discovery of the Pomajin tomb caused great concern in the archaeological community at that time, but also brought a lot of confusion, and the ancient tomb was riddled with mysteries.

Experts have a heated discussion on the ethnic fate of the owners of the ancient tombs, and strive to unravel this mysterious history of the steppe peoples.

The main inferences about the owner of the tomb are as follows:

The first: In the 1999 magazine "Cultural Relics", some experts expressed their views, believing that the ancient tomb of Poma should be the tomb of the Western Turks!

Judging from the patterns on the gold ware, it is different from the Huns' preference for decorating animals such as lions, tigers and sheep, and the same as the treasure flowers on the Western Turk gold and silver plates unearthed elsewhere.

Second, some experts believe that the burial system of the ancient tombs of Boma is significantly different from that of the Turks! The Turks loved mountains, and most of their tombs chose the top of the mountain closer to the sky, they worshiped ghosts and gods, and regarded wolves as their totems.

But on that exquisite "golden cup with red agate and tiger handle" is not a wolf, but a tiger! Obviously contrary to Turkic culture...

For an ancient tomb that appeared out of thin air and unfortunately disappeared, because scientific excavations could not be carried out, various speculations have not yet been conclusive.

Who is the owner of the tomb? Could it be a tribal leader? Why are so many gem-encrusted gold objects buried with them? Everything has become an unsolved mystery!

Although there are some regrets, these beautiful artifacts emit an incomparably brilliant brilliance, which seems to fill the loss in our hearts slightly.

Through them, we can still truly perceive the mysterious tribal culture, their pursuit of beauty... #古墓时空机 #
