Ram tested the new high-tech trailer rearview mirrors for a wider range of views

The traction function is a very important basic function for pickup trucks, whenever Ford, Chevrolet, Ram and other brands launch a new model or new technology, they will hype the maximum traction quality of their own products, and the traction ability has become one of the frontier positions of competition between the three giants of American pickup trucks. Recently, Stellantis, formed by the merger of PSA Group and Fiat Chrysler Group (FCA), once again demonstrated its new pickup truck traction technology. The company is testing a new set of high-tech tow mirrors for the Ram HD series, which is expected to be officially available in 2023.

The new towed mirrors tested by Stellantis include both electric and manual adjustments, integrating mirror heating, spot glass, LED turn indicator, LED welcome assist light, blind spot detection indicator, rear and forward spotlights, 360-degree surround view imagery, and new trailer assist imagery. Visibility and visibility are important for towing, and the new towing mirrors tested by Stellantis are made of a better material to ensure maximum visibility when the vehicle is on the road on the trailer and when parked in storage.

Blind zone assist is also particularly important for heavy-duty pickup trucks that tow trailers, and trailer assist cameras are currently the focus of attention for pickup truck manufacturers. The Chevrolet Silverado offers up to 8 auxiliary cameras, 4 for the detection of blind spots around the body and 4 for the blind spot detection of trailers, enabling the display of external images from 15 different viewing angles on the large central control screen. The Ford F-Series is also equipped with multiple cameras and radars, providing 360° surround view capabilities, trailer blind spot detection and towing assistance. Stellantis introduced the new towed mirrors to ensure that the Ram pickup can be competitive enough, because the auxiliary technology applied to the Ram series has been relatively backward.
