The reason why I ask this question is because in the history of the Korean People's Army, there is a record of the bombing of Rhee's Ministry of National Defense, using a Bo-2 aircraft, which is quite consistent with the plot of the time when Instructor Kang rescued the North Korean pilot.
At the beginning of the Korean War, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea had established an air force of more than one hundred aircraft, including Jacques fighters, Il-Ilk fighters, and some transport aircraft and trainer aircraft. For the Syngman Rhee regime, this air force had an overwhelming advantage, but after a year of fighting, due to the participation of the US military, this air force was basically wiped out, and the air supremacy was completely controlled by the other side.

However, the Korean People's Army still retains a group of elite pilots - the air force is very cruel, many pilots died in the first air battle, but as long as they survive the difficult situation like the Korean battlefield, they will almost become unkillable spirits.
Throughout the war, they will always launch unexpected and effective attacks on their opponents. For example, after the Soviet Union supplied them with jet fighters, Korean People's Army pilots attacked Seoul in December 1951, taking advantage of the weakness of the US military's lack of night jet fighters, relying on superb technology to sneak into Seoul with a MiG-15 fighter.
The U.S. military was almost hysterical about this, and they quickly sent their most advanced radar-equipped aircraft to North Korea, which contained the MiG-15. However, the Korean People's Army has another method of night raiding, and its weapon is the surviving Bo-2 aircraft.
The Older Bo-2 is small, easy to hide, and requires little dedicated runway to take off and land, so it's more viable than advanced fighters.
The Korean People's Army uses such Bo-2 aircraft, usually sneak attacks at night, transporting the aircraft close to the front line and then taking off under the cover of darkness to attack enemy bases. This kind of harassment ran through the entire war, and the losses of the Bo-2 were not large, which could be regarded as the best use of things, and those who could do it worked more. During World War II, the Soviets often used this type of aircraft to carry out night raids on the German army, and the Bo-2 earned the nickname "Night Witch".
The Soviet 588 Night Brigade was a unit using Bo-2 aircraft, and it was all female pilots, so it became the star unit of World War II.
The Bo-2 has a very low speed, is good at ultra-low altitude flight, and has flexible movements, and the key is that the radar cannot see it, which makes the US pilots in North Korea very headaches. Even in one battle, the Bo-2 tossed down an F-94 jet fighter of the U.S. 319 Wing.
The U.S. military lost an F-94 Spark jet fighter, whose equipment was considered so advanced during the Korean War that it was initially barred from flying over territory controlled by north Korea, fearing that the crashed aircraft would provide technical help to the Soviet Union. To this day this aircraft still looks cool.
How did such a cool plane get tossed down by the Bo-2? Because the latter has a speed of only 95 kilometers (taxis can surpass it), the F-94 will stall when it reaches 110 kilometers. The F-94 of the 319th Wing successfully captured a sneaky Bo-2, but in a hurry, the speed dropped too low and crashed, which may be the only jet fighter lost in a battle with a biplane in the current military history of the world. (The U.S. military also has a suspected case of losses due to the F-94's pursuit of the Bo-2, but it is not entirely certain.) ）
The Po-2 was not very powerful, it could only carry 50 kg of bombs, or a machine gun in the rear seat. But there were several successful cases, such as the end of 1950, a Bo-2 raid on the Pyongyang airfield that was still in the hands of the U.S. military, destroying eleven P-51 Mustang fighters on the runway, causing complete losses; in 1952 they sneaked into Suwon Airfield and even destroyed an advanced F-86 Sabre fighter, damaging the remaining ones; on June 16, 1953, two Bo-2s raided the U.S. fuel depot in Incheon, burning 5.5 million gallons of fuel. It brought considerable shock to the US military.

However, the Korean People's Army believes that the Most Brilliant Achievement of the Bo-2 was not the destruction of an F-86, but the night attack of a female pilot on a Po-2 in Seoul , controlled by Rhee .
