They always maintained inextricable ties with the Japanese army and helped the Japanese army to commit crimes and harm the people on the mainland territory. However, what we are going to see today is a contingent of puppet armies that "abandon the dark and turn to the light", who can distinguish between right and wrong in the face of national interests and can firmly stand on the side of justice.
In 1944, Du Xinmin was promoted from division commander to deputy commander by the commander of the puppet army, and at this time, the deputy commander already had his own "abacus" in his heart. On the night of his appointment, he led his men to a successful defection to the New Fourth Army. So far, these officers and men are very grateful for his choice. Du Xinmin was born in 1903 in Fengyang County, Anhui Province. When he was young, his family was poor, but his parents loved Du Xinmin very much and did not let him suffer when he was a child. When he reached school age, his parents tried to send him to school. Unfortunately, at the age of 16, his father died. Du Xinmin could not continue his studies and could only work in the fields at home. Later, seeing that the country was in turmoil and the people were not happy, Du Xinmin decided to join the army.
In 1923, Du Xinmin was introduced by people and joined Feng Yuxiang's army. In 1924, the Kuomintang and the Communist Party began to cooperate for the first time, and a wave of revolution arose throughout the country. At that time, the warlords in the country were divided, and the whole country was in chaos. At the height of the Great Revolution, Du Xinmin's warlord launched a coup in Beijing and directly overthrew the rule of the Beiyang government.
At the same time, a statement was issued saying that it opposed the division of the warlords and supported the situation of national reunification. Subsequently, they officially joined the Kuomintang army. Du Xinmin was deeply touched by this revolutionary event, and he felt the importance of revolution.
In 1937, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out. The Kuomintang and the Communists once again reached a cooperation in which the Nationalist forces were responsible for a frontal confrontation with the Japanese army, while the New Fourth Army was engaged in guerrilla warfare with the enemy. In 1938, in the famous Battle of Taierzhuang, although the Japanese army was eventually repelled, due to the passive confrontation of the Kuomintang army, it led to heavy losses. In the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Kuomintang's behavior on the frontal battlefield was seen by Du Xinmin in his eyes and remembered in his heart.
In 1939, the Kuomintang miscommunicated the battlefield, resulting in several defeats to the Japanese. At the same time, the japanese army, which was gradually defeated in guerrilla warfare between the Communists and the enemy, captured many of the chassis occupied by the Japanese army. At this time, Du Xinmin profoundly realized that only by joining the Communist Party could he truly drive out the Japanese army and realize national reunification.
In March of the same year, Du Xinmin contacted the New Fourth Army and expressed his desire to join the Communist Party. After the approval of the organization, Du Xinmin officially joined the Communist Party of China.
Due to the tense relations between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party at that time, Du Xinmin's joining the Communist Party was not disclosed to outsiders. Du Xinmin secretly joined the Communist Party in the hope of winning victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan at an early date. In the spring of 1940, a notice was issued within the Kuomintang to arrest the Communists. When Du Xinmin first met with the Communist underground organization, he was accidentally discovered by Kuomintang agents. Therefore, Du Xinmin was immediately placed under house arrest by the Kuomintang.
But Kuomintang agents found no definitive evidence, so in May of that year, Du Xinmin was released. During the two months under house arrest, the Kuomintang cut off Du Xinmin and others from contact with the outside world, so Du Xinmin lost contact with the organization.
At the end of 1940, after Du Xinmin was released from house arrest, on his way back to the army, he encountered a commander who had been a warlord in the northwest, and was then the commander of the puppet army in Shangqiu. When he first joined the army, Du Xinmin was flexible and resourceful, and he worked very hard in training, which was deeply loved by the commander.
However, when he regrouped when he joined the Kuomintang army, Du Xinmin's team was dispersed by the Kuomintang, and the two did not see each other for many years. This time on the way, the chief hoped to get Du Xinmin's assistance again.
Du Xinmin thought that if he returned to his original unit, he would be constantly monitored by his superiors, so it was better to change to a new environment. After thinking about it, Du Xinmin agreed to the commander's request and became the leader of the teaching regiment of his army. During this period, Du Xinmin did not stop looking for the work of the organization, at the same time, he also met many people with lofty ideals in the team. Among them, under his encouragement and persuasion, a group of patriotic young people gradually fell to the communist army.
At the beginning of 1941, thanks to Du Xinmin's efforts, he finally got in touch with the communists arranged in the ranks of the puppet army. The two talked many times before they determined each other's identity. And in 1942, Du Xinmin finally met with the organization through the introduction of the Communist Party in the team. Later, under the deployment of the organization, the two jointly established a Communist Party branch in the ranks of the puppet army.
Previously, Du Xinmin had been placed under house arrest by the Kuomintang, and at this time he was more cautious. And often coexisted with the puppet army in the Base of the Japanese Army, and the organization told Du Xinmin not to panic when encountering anything, and all actions must be reported to the organization. Therefore, in the ranks of the puppet army, he often took the initiative to talk to the commander and judge the current situation.
In 1944, on the eve of the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan, the commander of the puppet army began to think about where to go. He summoned Du Xinmin and others to discuss the matter. Du Xinmin did not know what the commander meant, so he did not dare to express his opinion at first. Sure enough, most of the people present were inclined to submit to the Communists, and the military commander had a sad face and seemed reluctant to defect to the Communists.
In March 1944, due to Du Xinmin's excellent performance in the team, he was appointed division commander. Du Xinmin planned to lead the army to revolt at this time, but after reporting to the organization, the organization said that it was not the best time at present, hoping that he could stay in the ranks to observe the movement of the puppet army and wait for the opportunity to plot against more puppet troops.
In 1945, the War of Resistance Against Japan was won. The Kuomintang and the Communists actively negotiated with the puppet army, hoping to take it under their command. Because the puppet army commander at that time was very fickle, his ideas were difficult to grasp. When he received the Communists, he showed a willingness to cooperate, but never spoke of the actual compilation.
Subsequently, Du Xinmin inquired about the news that the Kuomintang had secretly ordered someone to send a letter of appointment to the commander of the puppet army. At this time, in order to ensure his rights and meritorious name, the commander of the puppet army was obviously already moved by the Kuomintang. Later, he also bribed Kuomintang officials several times. After Du Xinmin knew, he was very familiar with the principles of the puppet army commanders. Subsequently, Du Xinmin contacted the New Fourth Army and explained to it that the commander of the puppet army was already planning to surrender to the Kuomintang troops.
In the autumn of 1945, Du Xinmin received a notice that he had been appointed deputy commander. At this time, Du Xinmin found that the military commander had been in frequent contact with the Kuomintang. After the last meeting with the organization, the organization asked him to find the right time to act. At the time of the operation, send a signal to the organization so that the New Fourth Army can come to meet it.
Du Xinmin, who returned to the team, immediately began to prepare for the uprising with his colleagues. In order to fight the grass and snakes, the two decided after consultation to set the time of the uprising on the fifteenth day of August in the lunar calendar, that is, the Mid-Autumn Festival. Du Xinmin planned to hold a celebration banquet in the army on the grounds that he had been promoted to a higher rank.
Soon, on August 15, all the soldiers rested. Du Xinmin invited a famous chef in the city to prepare a banquet to make the soldiers happy. In the evening, Du Xinmin had already set up a banquet in the barracks, and informed the soldiers who had planned to rebel in advance to prepare to join the New Fourth Army at night.
At night, when everyone was on their way, Du Xinmin received a letter from the New Fourth Army. The New Fourth Army told Du Xinmin to create chaos internally, so as to avoid confrontation with the puppet army and reduce casualties. Du Xinmin had a plan at the time, and he informed the disguised chef to set fire to the venue later.
After a while, the cook took advantage of the fact that everyone was not paying attention and threw the fuel into the soldiers' barracks. The soldiers who were happy at the time were very flustered for a while, and Du Xinmin came out to control and let the soldiers carry water and pour fire.
Subsequently, Du Xinmin met with the soldiers who had assembled in advance. As the fire grew, Du Xinmin and his party successfully met with the New Fourth Army in the confusion. After seeing the New Fourth Army, they returned to Du Xinmin's regiment, detained all the remaining soldiers, and cut off contact with the headquarters of the puppet army.
It is worth mentioning that at that time, Du Xinmin's military commander was discussing cooperation with the Kuomintang in other places, and he did not know that his men had submitted to the New Fourth Army. When the commander of the puppet army learned about Du Xinmin's rebellion, he was very angry. He demanded that the Communist Party be thoroughly investigated within the army, and that all those who discovered the New Fourth Army should be dealt with in accordance with the regulations.
After the uprising, Du Xinmin quickly found an organization, hoping that the party organization could come to the ranks to calm people's minds and boost morale. After the soldiers saw the New Fourth Army, everyone talked about it. Du Xinmin told the soldiers, I will bring you a new organization today, which is an organization with courage and strategy, where you can fulfill your wish to join the army and save the country.
In the summer of 1946, Du Xinmin and his troops were incorporated into the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and he served as deputy commander. When the Kuomintang turned its guns at the People's Liberation Army, he did not soften his heart at all, and he was only bent on liberating China. After Du Xinmin officially joined the People's Liberation Army, he led the team to participate in many liberation wars.
At the end of the Liberation War, the soldiers who had followed Du Xinmin's uprising said: "Fortunately, I chose Deputy Commander Du at the beginning, otherwise I would not regret it now!" Du Xinmin said excitedly: "As early as 1939, I saw many soldiers of the New Fourth Army who risked their lives on the anti-Japanese battlefield, while the Kuomintang army always took an uncertain position on the battlefield. At that time, I decided to join the Communist Party, and later with the help of the New Fourth Army, I was able to smoothly integrate into the organization. ”

In 1949, the Founding of New China was founded. Du Xinmin received some education when he was a child, and in addition, he never stopped studying after joining the army, and he was organized and arranged to work in the Nanjing air defense agency.
